They were 2nd in the league after 6 matches then lost 4 on the bounce dropping to 20th when they sacked the gaffer. Probably a knee jerk decision to sack the manager at such an early stage of the season so it’s difficult to say they were in trouble when a win or two would’ve had them climb right back up the table. He was in charge for 28 games that season and only won 8 of them so there was definitely room for improvement and more than long enough to do so. Underwhelming for me like if he can’t do a job with that Hull squad I can’t see how he’d do better here, most of their best Xl last season would walk into our team.
Like who? Like it or not we are a championship club, the pool of coaches available to us will fall into a few categories; young and unproven (Maric), young but decently experienced but have questions around them (Still, Rosenior), more experienced but have 'failures' on their CV's (Heckingbottom). We aren't going to get a perfect candidate.
I've nicked this from the other forum but this is the main reason I don't want Rosenior (just based on my own preferences when watching football, not saying I'm right and others who want him are wrong): please log in to view this image
Definitely not Ccoper (a failure) coz he’s feckin ugly. Wouldn’t say Still Tuchel Poch or Klippety have been failures, and they’d be exciting appointments. Bart
I'm not going to say you're wrong either but look at the teams that are further to the right in terms of how successful they've been this season versus those that are in the top left.
I would only counter that by saying the two teams more even more married to the possession style were promoted. Obviously big differences in the talent within the squads though.
Both of them were able to convert that 'patient' play into chance creation though, something Rosenior's Hull hadn't mastered. I've seen plenty on here say that he's young enough to add that in time but there's no guarantee. I can see the appeal for people though and I should be absolutely clear, it's just my personal tastes - I don't particularly enjoy watching Man City although I know how good it is. Edit: it's also how low they are on the vertical axis that bothers me rather than how far along the horizontal one.
