It's going to be tough to drop Toby when everyone is fit again, he's grabbed his opportunity with both hands.

Orr is out for about two months. Which is then followed by a month of 50 over cricket. So we probably won't have a decision to make until September.

Just typical that Benny would score the winning runs back at Gloucs

Solid win

Good figures for Mason today, I see.

My general nature is to favour as much batting as possible. So ideally I'd continue with Gubbins in the XI. But if he fails in both of our next, say, two games, then I'd seriously consider recalling Mason.

We don't need a seventh bowling option. A ninth batting option (as we would have in a full strength team) is far more sensible. But if Gubbins can't prove himself to be one of those batting options, then selecting someone like Mason makes more sense than essentially picking a specialist fielder.

Well that's one more game for Gubbins.

But despite all that good work from Mason, Glamorgan throw it away from 123-8. What exactly were they saving McIlroy's 4th over for?

Essex badly needed that win.

David Willey continues to be one of the worst death bowlers in county cricket.

The guy has so much talent. But he constantly lets himself down by bowling at the death.
