He used to come on here begging for info and then go and post it everywhere else immediately, often slagging off the source of that info in the process
Dragging on big time now in my opinion. I keep trying to analyse why it is dragging on so much. I dont believe it is because we are going through a long list. I dont believe the likes of Robinson are in contention either. I doubt somebody like Jansen is a long process either, out of work etc. Has to be because either they have their man, and there is a hold up with lawyers and contracts. Or they are chasing hard one target but it is competitive, ie Still. I do hope it is the former not the latter. As a wise man once said it is not how long you wait, but what you are waiting for. I have to say though I think we are losing ground the longer it takes. Any new guy will have a lot of catching up to do. The free agent conversations will be happening and even if we think our head coach doesnt sign players, I am 100% certain players want to talk to their new coach before signing. Then we have players agents who may well be restless, our players that is. Not to mention the work needed for any new coach to learn about the squad he is inheriting and plan his pre season accordingly. Pre season is the most important time for a coach, particularly a new one. That doesnt just commence when the players report back. A lot of prep work is needed before that date. The head coach is the one who designs that pre season, because every last detail is about preparing for the way he wants the team to play. Years ago it was running and running. Nowadays it is much more about the way we will play as players generally come back pretty fit on day one. I wouldnt be surprised if some arent in and around the academy from next week doing their own fitness regime. A great chance for a new coach to have a coffee and get to know individuals, another huge part of what he will have to do. Lets hope we get someone in their office next week and working long hours. I think long hours are going to be needed to get us ready to start well this season.
Especially when they're likely profiting off other Sunderland fans using the betting markets. I think this is where the Jansen rumours have come from and that's why I worry there's nothing at all in them.
Has there been an actual creditable link to Jansen? Or has his name cropped up in the betting, then people read up on his profile and realised he'd be a good fit, then it's snowballed from there?
Don't get me wrong, I think he'd be a really good fit. I actually think there is actually something in it. But there just seems to be a lack of a creditable source.
I personally don't think there's anything in it. I think what you describe in your first post is what's happened. I'm maybe just being pessimistic though.
Seen as no one actually has a clue who it's going to be. I hope it's Jansen. Could the reason be something daft, for example, it's Knutsjen and we've just been waiting for there break to sort it out? Or are they just fannying on
Any chance it's an international manager who doesn't want it announced u til after the euros? Southgate? This time tomorrow Nixon will report this as fact.
The irony is everyone hates the model. That implies we have one. It seems a mess to me. If we had a model to slot in to and the data presented the best options the only other reason is we’re an unattractive offer or they don’t pay the going rate.
**** it here's my ridiculous list: Willy Sagnol (French connection) Ronald Koeman (wants his wife to get flowers like his mate and compatriot big dick) Roberto Martinez (wants a move back to England, loves us) Domenico Todesco (good experience with youth, might want more day to day running) Rebrov (wants to start a Ukrainian revolution with Tuterov, Rusyn and that other young lad, enjoyed his stint England and might feel safer in Pennywell than war torn Kyiv. Or maybe not) Luciano Spalleti (cracking record, might fancy the idea of home comforts in Romanos) Michal Probierz (wants to be a cult hero like Dariusz Kubicki. Who wouldnt) Didier Deschamps (has known KLD since he was a kid. Odds on favourite in my book) Southgate (**** it I'm bored)
