Why? I have no idea. The Greens get the least by my reckoning, followed by the Lib Dems and then you get Reform. Because Reform have Farage and he's box office is my guess. Davey's antics while funny have a sole purpose, get me in the press. It's working, he had an exclusive on Channel 4 the other day. In the UK you have to fight tooth and nail for any news slot
No it's not, as a teacher you should know that a body of water thankfully seperates us. No one goes to Essex unless they really have to.
I think Libdems approach is focused more at a local level. So they put all their efforts into campaining at constituency level. I can see why that will work for them. Ed Davey then appears on national TV with his antics just to remind everyone they're still there. He did a good piece about his son and how he is his carer yesterday.
I think they will win a good amount of seats. Have you been in a Lib Dem target constituency before? They are great at local campaigning, it's orange all over the place. They also have in general good MPs and councillors, which helps them keep seats after they win em. I think Reforms problem is they find local campaigning to be boring, Farage seems to only speak negatively about it. He said the other day "I'm the only one who goes out like this and it's dangerous." But... Ed Davey walks around constituencies all the time and he's not splashed with milkshake lol
One place you will never see me is Lakeside, fooking hate the place. I can tolerate Bluewater and at least you aint trying to pick fights with lorries trying to drive to the latter. Plus you have to pay to cross that water ffs.
I haven't so much, they were quite popular here about 20 yrs ago but Labour have grown as the 2nd party since then. Still see a a bit of orange about though. I think I would vote more for a party that put the effort in locally in their campaining.
Actually thinking about it now, I'm sure one of the extreme right wing parties got in some part of Essex, some years back or were certainly campaigning that way, by extreme, I'm thinking whatever the NF and all it's reincarnations is called these days.
BNP The BNP were alarmingly popular around 2009-2010, before UKIP sort of a absorbed them. 388 candidates in 2010 and only 8 in 2015. Their collapse was insane.
Never been to Essex (the only English county as far as I'm aware) but is Clacton run down? I genuinely don't know. Old school seaside town with B&B and Guesthouses ripe for placing (transitioning) immigrants into? Could be that.
I've got no idea what Clacton is like tbph, don't remember ever going there - but yeah take your point about guesthouses and migrants. One of the main reasons I hate going over to Essex is because of Tilbury Docks, and I feel like you are dicing with death with the freight traffic, it's a poor stretch of road coming off the M25, I just hate it. I think the last time I went that way (Essex) was when my lad drove - because if memory serves me correctly Ikea is over there and my son and mrs went to collect something. Maybe I should visit Clacton sometime, i was generalising a bit because of it being in Essex. Funnily enough I use to drive the M25 every single day for years, it was what put me off driving, I got stacked one time on there and after that I called it a day and went to working more local in Kent.
