i'm up for that to many sound lads on here if everyone else is up for it so am i

Yeah some people have discussed ja606 as an option but I'm not sure. I'd rather it be a forum like this. I reckon the 606 layout is just too basic. Preferably needs to be one that's kinda empty at the minute, so we can jump straight in and not upset the locals by chatting **** all the time.

How about starting a entirely new forum? I'd wanna take the Mackems too though <laugh>

Yeah I've thought about that. There's a variety of sites out there allowing you to make your own forum of course (Made and ran my own a couple of years ago, a free one like. Wasn't huge, probably only 700 members really) but the problem is it wouldn't be anywhere as near as big as this one without actually paying for and hosting the site like Mick does now. It wouldn't be a .com either. Not sure there's anyone on here now willing to do that, it'd cost to run and a lot of time will be needed to put into it.

If it ever happens, I'd be willing to help out to a certain extent (as much as time allows, of course)

And we'd need to take everyone with us too <laugh>

Well, I would be willing to chip in some money into a forum, for as long as I could get reassurance from a number of users they'd make the move.

I just checked VBulletin, and yeah its expensive, but if we all chipped in. It could work out.

My main worry is everyone losing contact if im honest. The community we've made here is epic. Woudlnt wanna lose that,

would imagine the advertising would come in eventually to cover costs it's just the time and effort thing also would like the mackems to come over as well

Yeah it's something I just couldn't afford to do. The easiest option will be finding an already existing football forum with a Newcastle board that isn't too busy, just so when we bring not606 life over to them they won't get too annoyed by us <laugh>

Tash has a lot of savings.. how about him? <whistle>

me either but if this continues people will leave in dribs and drabs anyway

Graphics wise we'll be sorted for anyone who wants to design the site, it's just mainly the financial thing that's a problem. Not sure if there's a lot of people willing to commit in that way.

that's the challenge then find a site with very little toon fans on their forum and then mass exodus

used to be able to set up forums on yahoo years ago can you still do that

Just did a quick Google search and this site doesn't look too bad. It's just finding someone that is willing to put the effort into sorting it all out and running it.

I'd help in sort of way. But work takes up so much of my time. Sometimes, when its quiet at work I can sit on here for a few hours on end. But not enough to warrant opening a forum by myself.

Yeah, there's bound to be a decent one where it's a bit empty. If it's already full and already got a big community it'd be difficult/harsh for us to just go in there and carry on as normal.

Well who's the person on here that does the least with their time?

Acid Hippo, fancy running a forum? <laugh>

<laugh>

Hell no! <laugh>

proboards is another decent free forum site as far as I can remember, but there's only so much you can do with free forums.
