The windows always go the same way... linked with loads of random players as no one has a clue and lazy journos need to keep their clicks up... then the club go and sign, completely out of the blue, world class players like Isak and Bruno.....

Chelsea have to raise funds through players sales before 30 June to comply with Premier League profit and sustainability rules. (Sun)

Window opens on the 14th with a lot of their players on international duty, could get interesting!

Olise and Branthwaite are class...would have been ideal.

Newcastle's record with injuries + DCL = disaster.

Looks like an Ashley signing - grab a bargain, and don't worry about the countless red flags.

    I agree.
He's a really **** striker. Really **** imho. If he's injury prone elsewhere... how bad will he be under Eddie and his high press? With wages etc... I'd rather take a chance and go get a couple of young strikers form abroad for half the cost and give the a go. They won't be made of balsa wood or thin air.

I just aren't having it we're signing him. Not happening, surely.

I think DCL will actually be a good signing

He wouldn't be my choice that's for sure.

If we sign him then at least he's a rotational option in a season we're playing fewer games. He was good a couple of years back but so many injuries since then. If he stays fit for a couple of years then he has the ability to be a bargain (I disagree that he's a bad player, he is a good player but a massive risk - too big for me). Got to suspect he's a permanent crock now but hopefully will a lesser squad role he can stay fit - certainly different to what we have.

Beggars belief that a club like ours, off the back of a season where we comfortably racked up the most injured days of anyone in the PL, would even consider a perma-crock. It's a signing that just smacks of mediocrity and hoping to grab a bargain.

He was decent about 4/5 years ago, then the injuries have just kicked in and year on year he's barely reaching 20 games. My concern is it's another Harvey Barnes type and we seem to be moving further and further away from top players like Bruno, Botman and Isak and continually focusing on British-first.

If people recall to us signing Callum Wilson; he was injury prone and his stats were only slightly better.

Like you say he’s different to what we’ve got. He’s played for England. He’s come up good for Everton when they needed him to. In terms of injury - this season hasn’t actually been bad. Overall he’s had a couple of odd injuries; broken toe and cheek bone. One season of hamstrings but none went last season.

Not sure there's a better striker available at such a low price. I have no issues with this one because Newcastle simply don't have a player that can do what he does, so it's a squad improvement full stop.

I’m just of the opinion that I’ve maybe been overly harsh on him this season with my desire to win something.

Patience is key to our long term success. So I might be making an announcement soon.

Bedwetters I am thinking about leaving the gang.
