That's way more likely imo then a promotion chasing team. But with the way managerial appointments are going.....who knows

LR has potential, but that's all it is. He "talks the talk" and he managed to find a way to grind out results last year on a limited budget, but he's achieved nothing of note as a manager yet - unlike McKenna who has a similar number of years experience and already has 2 promotions on his CV.

IMO, he needs the club he thought he was joining with us; somewhere the owner considers it a project and is willing to give him the time to develop. Not somewhere he'll get the fed to the lions if he fails to entertain the emperor.

I'd have loved a few 1-0 wins at home. Not being greedy but had he managed even only say 3 or 4 since the turn of the year we'd have been in the play offs and then who knows what might have happened. Instead our form was shocking.
Btw, the owner was clear he wants success (to win) and that attacking football brings more excitement, enjoyment and chance of success ("you have to score goals to win"). He didn't say he wants us to keep losing 3-4, although for some reason a handful choose to misquote what he was saying.

Sort of agree but tbf from day one he promised high energy high tempo exciting, attacking football. Last summer he very clearly promised again that it was coming. But it didn't, and what we repeatedly got was pretty much the opposite, other than in very rare glimpses.

    You're right he said,

For someone so fixated on quotes from Rosenior to hang him with you haven't kept a good track on what Acun has said.

Taken out of context. It was crystal clear what he's been saying (unless some have a weird agenda against him)

What was the context that changes the meaning of that quote?

Guess you're the expert on weird agendas.

That is not out of context it's what he said.

I suppose saying it's a 3 year project and if we don't make it this season it means we are not ready, was that out of context because what he meant was get me promoted this season or your fired stuff the project.

Whether you agree with the decision or not, it really isn't difficult to understand where Acun is coming from, what he's been saying, and why he pulled the plug on Rosenior part way through 'the project'.
If you can't, or choose not to understand (probably the latter) then there's no point discussing.

We all understand his stated reasoning. Whether it was the correct decision or not will be proven in hindsight.

But given many of the criticisms coming out of Germany about Walter mirror what was said here about Rosenior, I wouldn't be getting too confident there'll be a huge change just yet - the proof will be in the pudding.

Basically when any style works it can be good to watch, and when it doesn't its inherently frustrating. That's the case for any manager or club since the game was invented.

I think some on here are beginning to be in danger of chasing unicorns.

Personally, I thought LR under delivered last season, but if it was a choice between LR and some random fella from Germany who seems slightly bonkers. I think I'd have stuck with LR.

A large amount of faith's being put in Acun getting this right.

I agree re LR under delivering last season. when it was clear LR was gone, I was expecting it would be followed by a top appointment, along the lines of cooper or the sheff weds gaffer etc.

This German fella will either be a stroke of genius or a complete failure. It's a gamble ( as all appointments are TBF ) but this is an even bigger gamble then it needed to be imo

Good point well made. Personally I think it was the right decision, though that doesn't mean I think Walter will necessarily be an improvement... We'll have to wait and see on that one. Should certainly be more entertaining, and if we end up with a squad like we had last season, with some attacking ability in there, then it could reap rewards for us.

I honestly think we were about to hit a glass ceiling with Rosie at the helm as I didn't get the impression he was willing to tweak his plan to accommodate creating more chances 'off his own back'. Great manager to solidify, but unfortunately not one I could have seen getting us promoted. We'll never know for sure now - though worth noting he's on an upward trajectory if he can learn from his time with us.

Walter is a complete enigma to call right now. It'll either work or it just won't. Can't see us being 'reserved' in many games under him though.

From 15th and avoiding relegation with one set of player to 7th with a different better set of players. If league position was the only measure.

I feel sometimes, Acun tries to make left field appointments to say 'look how amazing I am' when it comes off. He did it with Shota (who had no experience of managing in England), Rosie, who had pretty much no managerial experience, and now Walter who not only has no experience of managing in England, but also hasn't really achieved anything of note apart from very high scoring games.

I do think Acun is a great owner for us and a million times better than Ehab, but I feel he tries things 'out of the ordinary' too often to look a genius. There has been plenty of very, very good candidates each time the job has been available, with Championship promotions, good track records, household names etc but we've always opted for the obscure.

Saying that, I'm looking forward to some chaotic, attacking, fast football as personally that's the sort of football I love watching. I personally didn't enjoy watching Rosie's slow style at home (definitely enjoyed it away though).
