I nearly popped onto your board the other week so say how nice it is to have such nice weekends with no stress about football <wah>
If Leeds had pipped Ipswich for the final automatic place, would Farke be in the same position and being touted for a top job, no he wouldn't. That's the concern, top clubs realise that McKenna has far exceeded expectations with what he has at his disposal, if he feels the same then he will be off.

I said before, the PL is run by greed, money, agents, there is zero loyalty in the PL and it's a sorry situation.

Anyway, I would swap stress positions with you in an instant <ok>

Ipswich are in a strong position to attract another young and hungry coach, they need to do it soon though if it is going to happen.

Looking in, it seems like McKenna wants to listen to offers before deciding, that never sits well with me, you've already got fans starting to turn on him and rightly so if he can't come out and say I am honoring my contract.

I think he will take the Brighton job myself.

I for one am completely sick and tired of all this speculation around his future and i have reached the conclusion that for the good of the club he should just go and do one and the sooner the better. All of the euphoria we all felt a few short weeks ago has been well and truly poisoned over the last week. The club has bent over backwards for him but it seems that his mind has been made up to leave. If he wants to be cannon fodder for Chelsea to ruin then thats his look out! We gave him his big opportunity and it looks as though he's going to chuck it right back in our faces! History is littered with managerial corpses so one more wont make any difference. Yes i am feeling bitter as I write this and I so desperately wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but all his mealy mouthed words about how much he loves the club and loves Suffolk and the community turns out to be a load of BS! Thanks for the memories Keiran and I wish you well but it’s now time to jog on as Ipswich Town is bigger than you.

My hope is that his agent is just trying to force Man United’s hand, as it’s McKenna’s dream move. Another hope is that Kieran has no real interest joining Chelsea or Brighton, it’s either Man United or a new contract at Ipswich. If Man United choose McKenna, it’d be a big gamble - particularly when Poch is the more proven manager and available.

Either way, I agree this debacle doesn’t reflect well on McKenna. If his agent is stirring the pot, he’s going to presumably be doing what Kieran tells him.

I do think TWTD is generally in denial about this. There is no smoke without fire. There’s a very high chance he’s off. If this fiasco was all for more money/guaranteed higher spending in the transfer window at Town, he would’ve signed the new contract by now.

As others have said, his future needs to be clarified and confirmed sooner rather than later. No doubt Ashton has his shortlist and has possibly sounded out a couple of replacements already. The main assurance we’ve got is that a) we’re a Premier League side now and b) we’ve got an excellent ownership and recruitment model. Even if we got relegated next season, the club’s future is brighter than it has been for decades - with or without McKenna.

I don't get this bitterness towards Kieran. In life everyone (barring the odd absolute saint)does what's best for themself and their family. If the man sees an opportunity elsewhere as the best way to progress his career ambitions or even if it's just the draw of the money then that's his choice.
My heartfelt wish is that he will stay with us for at least one Season in the PL to hopefully get us established there.
Yes I'd be really sad to see him go but I say thanks for getting us where we are and good luck.

It’s about his ability to do the job. If he isn’t excited about the potential of Ipswich Town next season enough to stop the speculation then he’s not the right man to take us forward. Everybody is grateful for where he’s got us to. The ‘just another game’ message for the East Anglian derbies were a sign that he isn’t passionate about our club and his comments at the LMA awards were another sign of the same.

Just listened to a good chat on Talk Sport. Paul Hawkesby & Charlie Baker saying if he looked at Kompany, there has been no fall in his stock after one poor season in the premier league so why would KM be any different, just stay for 1 season at least.

Kompany to Bayern Munich is just mad though, isn’t it? They’ve had several other options turn them down, so Kompany feels like he’s low down on the pecking order. I think the fact he speaks German and had a world-class reputation as a player definitely helps him too.

They also mentioned his association with Pep G as a big influence on their decision.

Paul Lambert did the same job for us as McKenna has done for you. In a recent interview he was asked to say the worst mistake he had ever made. He said that after he had taken City into the PL he was offered the job at a bigger Club which he turned down to stay with us. He very quickly realised that he had made a bad decision. There are always more than one way of looking at things.

Was that before or after he mentioned Dortmund and Celtic?

I've not read all the posts, as they all seem to be saying the same, but I really don't get why everyone is getting all worked up about McKenna.
He's not long finished a ridiculously stressful season, so is probably on a nice relaxing holiday with his family, and has probably told his bosses and his agent to leave him the F alone and switched his phone off.
I'm convinced he's not going anywhere.
If Poch can't get the best out of the cheslsea squad, what makes them think that an inexperienced 38 year old, who's never managed any 'stars' will do a better job? Same with Man utd...As for Brighton - meh, not a chance in he'll he'll go there.

Brighton is looking far less likely now. Chelsea seems to be the main possibility but that is the 1 I discounted. No say over who comes in or leaves. He would be on a very short leash I.e. if he went there and won say 2 of his 1st 8 games, they’d probably get rid of him. Slightly more hopeful that we will have him for 1 more season (having written this, he will probably end up leaving tomorrow)

According to Sky Sports News, representatives of McKenna met with United's chief executive Omar Berrada and the club's technical director Jason Wilcox last week to discuss the managerial role at Old Trafford.

After such a high, all this leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. All this cloak and dagger stuff, Man Utd still have a manager really isn't a good look. Either this is all BS and the club, McKenna need to release a statement or its true and McKenna needs to be put on gardening leave, problem is there's no certainly that any of the 3 clubs have him as their first choice, his representatives could've ended up doing all this for him only be left to remain at Ipswich which isn't a good look. Unless something is announced by the club over the next couple of days it feels like either way this doesn't end well for us.

As many have said I'm sure we expected McKenna to leave eventually but not before he's even had one season with us in the PL. McKenna has always seemed level headed but there's potential this could all backfire on him.

We need some honesty, candour and openess from both MA & KM. Suffolk and all the fans worldwide deserve better than this.

Friday is a good day to declare their hands.

To be honest with you, I find it pretty disgusting. We give the guy his break in becoming a manager, we pretty much back him all the way and the first opportunity he gets to jump ship......The fans have taken him in with open arms, he is loved here and he knows this, yet he can't even come out and be honest with everyone. If he thinks the opportunity is too good to miss, then ok come out and explain this but we have been left dangling for a few weeks now and nothing has been said. He has totally gone down in my estimation, even if he stays.
