Having read the Guardian article I see I misunderstood what is being discussed. It’s not about ‘extending abortion to full term’. This is about prosecution of the very small number of women who take the desperate decision to terminate their pregnancy post 24 weeks. Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and, amazingly, The Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland have already decriminalised abortion in these circumstances, on the grounds that it’s a truly tiny number of cases and that it’s not in the best interested of justice or the resources of the justice system to prosecute them and send them to prison. it seem most MPs agree that it should be decriminalised - from the Guardian article “Polling of MPs for the Times found there appeared to be a majority in favour of decriminalising abortion, with 55% against women being prosecuted, 23% in favour and the rest saying they do not know.”
If a state decriminalises abortion at any time after 24 weeks, it is in effect extending abortion to full term. There may be a small number of women doing it with pills now, but I'd say it's highly likely the numbers will rise if Parliament gives the green light.
It’s not extending properly provided, managed and clinically delivered abortion though. The limits remain on that. The level of desperation involved in terminating a late stage pregnancy without any clinical assistance is beyond my understanding, but I just don’t believe that the threat of being sent to prison is the key deterrent and the removal of this threat would change the numbers. There has been no rise in numbers in those countries where it has been decriminalised, as far as I can see. I know this is one of your trigger subjects so I won’t take it any further.
Probably a better idea to ban people like Esther McVey from speaking, there really should be an MP for common sense...........
I'm hearing a whisper that the silly bitch is trying to get rainbows banned from the sky or at the very minimum, ban people from looking up at them.
Apart from Goldie. Be precise. We would make an immediate saving of at least £80k plus pension contributions if we simply dumped McVey and her fantasy job. I’ve looked it up and I could get a custom designed lanyard from 1p per unit. I’m working on the maths for McVey v lanyard value.

is the lucy letby case a miscarriage of justice long article in the new yorker A British Nurse Was Found Guilty of Killing Seven Babies. Did She Do It?
There is a serious point here that the questioning of Lucy Letby’s case is just another example of ****ing idiots on Twitter thinking you have to question absolutely everything and listening to a couple of crime podcasts makes you an expert.
A friend of mine was one of the investigating officers, she's as guilty as ****. Says ir was one of the most traumatic investigations he took part in, they spent years gathering the evidence
All that's missing is the blue and white garb and she'd make the match day threads..... Sent from Rosslare to Bilbao ferry after a couple of glasses of wine with lunch.....
If you are staying in Bilbao I recommend this place in the old town for pintxo and beers/wine. Mind you, you can’t really go wrong in Bilbao, love it.
Arrive Bilbao tomorrow afternoon, driving to a small wine village 100 kms from there where we stayed last year, brilliant hotel and restaurant.... staying overnight then off touring the country, Zaragoza, Valencia, Granada, Córdoba, Jerez..... Back to Bilbao in 3 weeks or so.... will give updates on review thread if places are worth a visit...... look up hotel viura in villebuena de alava for first stop....
