They’d need at least 50 years to build up a military. Financially and because their experienced lads are with the British military. You’d still get the unionists jumping across the border and joining the British army after independence. The Scottish army would be full of nationalists that would hate on Brits and be sympathetic to the IRA.

They’d be very little co-operation between us and them.

There’s absolutely no chance they’d get any serving men or women. They can start their own regiments up. Scotland doesn’t have any regiments, the UK does.

How? It was agreed at the independence referendum that all serving soldiers would stay where they’re. You also have to consider that the vast majority of Scottish people that serve are the guys who would vote against independence and see themselves as British.

It's not about England and that's your problem. Around half of Scots want Independence and that cannot be ignored. Support has grown since the referendum in 2014 and looks set to continue to grow. Young people get it and as they become the majority Independence will happen.

I am not dictating to anybody I live in Scotland and if you live in Scotland you get to vote in Scotland. 10% of the population of Scotland are English and we have a sizable number of English Scots supporting and working for Independence. It's the normal situation for countries to be be Independent the Scottish situation is not normal.

Scots who live in England vote in England they have no right to vote in Scotland. English who live in a foreign country vote in that country you cannot live in France and vote in England. Only apartheid states restrict voting by ethnicity or nationality.

I moved to Scotland because I wanted away from Tory England. England keeps voting Tory, even now after the total disaster of the last 14 years the Labour party has to adopt Tory policies to get elected. Scotland has not voted Tory for over 40 years but it constantly gets Tory governments imposed on it by England. England wants to be a big player on the world stage it cant come to terms with losing its empire.

Why do you think England fights so hard to prevent the Scots leaving? It's because it would lose credibility on the world stage and also lose income from Scotland. Some people think Scotland can't survive on its own when the reality is quite different. The richest countries in the world are mostly small countries the size of Scotland and smaller. Once again the myth about England subsidising Scotland goes on. The opposite is true.

Projections say that the South of England is going to run out of water in 30 years (look it up) In Scotland Loch Ness contains more water than all the lakes of England and Wales put together. We have 30,000 Lochs in Scotland. Renewable Energy we are already self sufficient, we have way more than enough to power the whole of Scotland. Then there's oil and gas.

I know you don't like my facts which is why you tried a smear about being anti English. I am English as I said I just prefer Scotland as a place to live, and I didn't come here for the weather.

The same thing always happens when the subject of Scottish Independence comes up in England. The lack of knowledge of Scotland is immediately apparent as people churn out the same old Daily Mail bollocks.

Scotland really is a different country with different values, culture and aspirations. At the moment these are difficult to express because in the UK Scotland represents only about 10% of the people so is always out voted.

Now I am going back to the Spurs board which I am sure you will all welcome.:emoticon-0109-kiss:

    Just not true.

Your understanding of polling is appalling. You cite IPOS only, do not accept any other polling company and just take it for face value.

Ipos consistently produce independence leaning polls, commissioned by independence news agencies. You have to take multiple poll results and find a balance. Polls overall indicate that desire for independence has fallen Spurf. Not grown.

Scotland has a budget deficit of 9% of GDP. That is by some margin the highest in the UK, it is in fact one of the highest in Europe. But it's consistently that England is "stealing" from Scotland, its just fake news.

Scotland uses over 200 British services. It would have to recreate, house and fund all of these services. It would be expensive as ****.

Scotland has a devolved Parliament. The Tory government is not "imposed" on Scotland.

A decrease on Scottish public spending is SNP policy. Like cuts in the housing budget, healthcare, mental care, fighting drug abuse.

You whenever faced with an issue involving independence, blow it off as some right wing nonsense. Even the idea that Scotland would need a currency.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. It's evident across the entire ****ing world, living in a country doesn't automatically mean you have a single ****ing clue about it's politics. It's more than evident with you.

You ain't got a clue how Scotland works, how the UK works and how England works.

Scotland came to England in 1707 voluntarily and has benefited massively. Now, it whinges.

You ain't the Welsh nor the Irish. You lot have **** all to cry about.

Straight out of the SNP handbook. You’ve been brainwashed.

A sizeable number of English people in Scotland support independence? No they don’t. Can you back that up?

Scotland has the biggest deficit out of all the UK nations. It is subsidised by Westminster. You keep comparing Scotland to other smaller nations but you don’t take into consideration the massive drink and drug problem that Scotland has. It is a country of people not being fit for work and it has a massive shortage of skilled workers.

10% of Scotland is English people. That’s another figure you’ve massaged. It’s about 7% or 8%. I’d be surprised if any more than 5% of English people in Scotland voted for independence. Every English person I know in Scotland hates the SNP. There’s a few lads on the Sunderland board live there and to a man they despise the nationalists.

England are going to run out of water? That’s a first <laugh>

England is set to run out of water in 25 years due to population growth, poor water management and climate change, the head of the country's environment body said on Tuesday.

James Bevan, chief executive of the Environment Agency, said England will be caught in the "jaws of death" and face severe shortages unless attitudes changed and wastage was cut.

"The jaws of death (is) the point at which, unless we take action to change things, we will not have enough water to supply our needs," Bevan told a London water conference.

"We need water wastage to be as socially unacceptable as blowing smoke in the face of a baby or throwing your plastic bags into the sea. We need everyone to take responsibility for their own water usage."

Water scarcity already affects more than 40 percent of the world's population and is expected to rise due to climate change, with one in four people projected to face chronic or recurring shortages by 2050, according to the United Nations.

the Environment Agency has issued a warning that by 2040 England runs the risk of running short of water and this new survey has suggested that, by then, the number of regions facing serious water stress concerns will climb from seven to 12, out of a total of 17.

Just like I still don’t believe a ‘sizeable’ number of English people support and work towards independence.
