Well, that would save £200k pw for a start, and who knows how much we'd get for him, offsetting the fee?
But really, I can't be bothered in trading hypotheticals, it gets us nowhere.
Tbh, this debate seems to have descended into a for him or against him argument, and that goes nowhere either, imo.
 
Vvd saying no talks about future atm - club too busy sorting out the manager. Focus on next 2 games then manager

But what he said after is encouraging. loves the club, big part of life - and he’s part of that transition.

Rumours Gomez wants to leave to get regular first team football. Also wants to be back in London...

Not sure how true. Be a shame for him to go, but wouldn't break the team.

Can understand it if so. At that age where should be a first team regular and just isn’t quite at that level for us, albeit a very good versatile squad player.

What would say is if I was a squad player at lfc I 100% would not be making any decisions about my future until new manager is appointed and let him. For all we know slot is a huge fan of Gomez and wants to make him first choice RB next season.

He can go anywhere he likes.

No commitment and they are better off out the door and gone.

I'll bet he never sees a medal again though.

Reality check is he's not anything but a cb and he's not tall enough really.

You replace Klopp instead of Slot... What's your minimum CB height requirement. You mention CB height fairly frequently. Are we talking 6'2 or 6'5 as a minimum?

A cb in the prem.needs to be about 6 foot 3 inches or higher.

I am being a bit unfair to Joe as he is nearly that

But compare to donate at 6'4", matip and vvd at 6' 5" and the squirt of the group quansah at 6' 3"
 
Martinez at man utd is a midget as a cb. He throws himself about and that but in the main he's only there for ten haag and utd have had a fairly big issue aerially with him in the team.

City have dias and gvardiol who are a bit short tbh and need stones playing with haaland to defend set piece

Gabriel is 6'3" and saliva is 6'4" so Ben fake tan white is relegated to rb at 6 foot 1 inch.

The height of the cbs are dictated by thrle height of opposing forwards and this league has haaland, havertz, solanke, Moore and the like.

Then you've very tall keepers up and down the league and a lot of giants like Dan burns on most sides too to defend off set piece.

You simply cannot turn up with a team of midgets in the prem or you will get done time and again.

Be interesting to see how the new process works because I do think Edwards returning spells the start of a new transfer boss in town. Players will be identified by the data team and then who will have the final say on which ones are bought, Edwards and Hughes or Slot? I think the main reason he left was because Klopp wanted more say and so he should have if he was going to be coaching them. Although, on the other hand, Edwards was at the helm when we bought a slew of great players - Salah, Van Dijk, Alisson, Jota and Fabinho to name a few.

I think Hughes will be the main guy and fed the info from the data team, Edwards won't be involved and no one will be signed without Slot's approval. And that's how it should be too imo

I see articles linking us to him from at least three years ago... So wouldn't be surprised if we're after him. His stats this season are good (and maybe he's finally hit his breakout year) buts his stats are pretty meh from previous seasons. (He's young so maybe this is his season he finally shone... I don't watch Palace except when they play us so wouldn't know)

60 seems a lot though... So unless he's replacing Salah and Salah is leaving, he would be an expensive sub.

The fact that Slot is being called head coach and not manager makes me wonder why. It may be to limit his role to coach compared to Klopp who managed and coached e.g he had a say on player transfers - both ways btw.
