1222: Before I go on, though, I have some incredibly sad news to bring you. The Football Association of Wales has just announced the death of national team manager Gary Speed. I can only offer deepest condolences to his family on behalf of us here at BBC Sport. I will bring you further news on this as it develops. As part Welsh, I always followed Wales and this death saddens me deeply, especially as they were turning a corner as well RIP Gary, and I would like to send condolences to everybody who knew him and especially to his family at this very difficult time for someone so young
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/8918628/Wales-boss-Gary-Speed-found-dead.html Says in there he was found hung! Absolutely shocking news, genuinely in shock over the news of this
Even though I'm english, I'm completely devastated - he was a top man. I'm not ashamed to admit I've got tears in my eyes.
whats even more shocking is he was on football focus yesterday looking well Zaqer Mused on Twitter: "Gary Speed RIP Can't believe you was on football focus yesterday looking well! #bbcfootball things change so quick" or playing football like in his heydey Former Northern Ireland international Iain Dowie on BBC Radio 5 live: "I was with Gary a couple of weeks ago, our two sons played football against each other and he looked exactly the same as when he played. He was a proper man's man, it's staggering, one so young. The world has lost a great footballer and potentially a great football manager." or just waving to a fellow footballer Manchester United striker Michael Owen on Twitter: "Just cannot believe the news regarding Gary Speed. We waved at each other a couple of days ago dropping our kids off at school. I'm numb."
If the reports are indeed correct and that he took his own life...he was on football focus yesterday and looked happy as he always was....
According to Robbie Savage: "He came to watch strictly 3/4 weeks ago I high fived him in the front row he loved the show ,he loved life he loved his family ! Devastated" "He was upbeat on phone yesterday we were laughing together, talking football and dancing he was a great teammate and a great friend"
