We've been good but we've not had to be great. If Burnley had scored in the first 20 minutes we'd have had a real game on our hands but once we got the first they just stopped. I hope they stick with Kompany next year as I think he'll get them back up again and they'll be stronger in the 2025-26 season but given the points deductions of Everton and Forest it really does highlight how poor the promoted teams have been this year that it seems like they're all going back down.
I reckon Ipswich will do the best of the promoted clubs. No points deduction to face, best manager, probably the biggest spenders.
I genuinely think he's good, some of our fans are torn on whether "he's taken us as far as he can go" and I think they're nuts. Our second goal today was Jacob Murphy assisting Sean Longstaff, both were previously struggling at Shef Wed (championship) and Dundee on loan when Howe joined - and neither are actually Premiership level. If we get a squad that is good enough to genuinely compete and he fails to do so they'll get rid of him but I think that's not happening in the next 2-3 years.
Honestly, this is why we love him. (Guimaraes that is) He's a bit OTT but we've had our fair share of mercenaries over the years who looked like they were stealing a wage. Bruno sets a tone. A bit of a mental one at times, but still. A tone.
I'm not saying that Jota ran for a long time before deciding to dive for a penalty against us but the original tackle was made by Phillipe Albert.
... and James Alexander-Gordon reading the full time scores with the inflections that always gave the score away before he finished each - simpler times
Yup... He was incandescent with rage when Brenda left Celtic for us ... does Prem predictions each week and 'impartially' predicted we'd lose just about every week ... had egg on his face for 3 seasons until it eventually came right for him last ... he's a biased twat ... and the bias is his own angst nowt else ...
Football can always prove you wrong, of course ... but can't really see past a Citeh win against a pretty dull Wolves ...
Carragher thinks that wasn’t a pen for City What is it with these Liverpool fans, most bitter, jealous and victimised people in the UK.
I thought the penalty was harsh, but it will keep Sucky busy complaining about it. But I do agree, I don't know why this liverpool guy is a pundit for this game.
Reminds me how Moyes got his team at Everton punching. I did at one point say to Tobes I would have him at Everton even after he failed at Burnley when moving away from the south coast. Is he good enough to win a trophy, that’s the thing.
