Agree, I'm not going to post anything positive again about our club until a satisfactory CF has been signed
It was suggested a while back that the ticket office and shop would be together so you could do both functions in one place. However the lady who used to be in charge of retail and ticketing (Lesley someone?) said we have too many complicated ticket enquires that take a long time to sort out. People are not going to stand 20 mins waiting to pay for a hat or something while all the windows are clogged with people doing "complex queries". I don't know what these complex queries are, or why we can't sort out the IT system to make it less complex and easier to sort problems out.
Seems people who transfered their SC to someone last season had their child's ticket de-linked and cannot renew by Friday deadline. My sister had to pop in yesterday to renew them both and the lass said "oh another one..."
He cannot wait to take the accounts apart can he ? https://x.com/christoph_21/status/1785583722521043384?s=46&t=FgnCLl4rQYbvpjBe_u6nPQ
I want to own up to something. The last strip/kit I bought was that white one with the blue patterned shoulder. I wore it away at Gateshead in pre season, when Hauser missed an open goal from a yard, then got chased out of Gateshead in a Princess with an exhaust falling off. Since then I have worn a scarf to every match, or my old faithfull bobble hat. Never thought to buy a strip. Thought it was for a younger group. I like the new yellow and am tempted. But I dont see me wearing it on my usual lonesome away trips. I have a feeling I might look an idiot . Trackie tops I havent worn in 30 years. Are they planning a throwback donkey jacket with the ship badge on? Might be more up my street the challenges with getting old
My birthday is the end of July, so the new home tops an easy present. Always support the club by buying their merchandise. Bought the 89 Marco Gates G-Force Vaux beat the skunks at their place off an alternative site (Grim Up North), but looking forward to splashing out next season on the Hummel offerings.
I'm surprised at that mind. Thought would be a smaller loss / around break even territory. There's my morning going to be wasted now.
Doesn't include any decent player sales mate. They come just after. So the Stewart money , lihaji etc.
wage bill on that is 26 million puts us in the top 10 for wages ....... boro is 29 million. so its seems we do pay the going rate for wages in the championship .....
Yeah another year to wait for those. Assumed the increased attendances additional televised games and playoffs would have boosted revenue enough to brought us closer to self sustainable
I was hoping the loss would be a lot less as well. Hopefully the changes being brought in with Fanatics, Hummel etc start helping us get it closer to break even. Football finance is really really messed up
Sunderland legend Gary Bennett says the team probably overachieved last season but still believes they could have reached the play-offs if they had a reliable striker. “Maybe last season they overachieved but then you look at this season, I think if you had a striker I think we could have made the play-offs,” Bennett told the Echo when asked about Sunderland’s 2023/24 campaign. It comes after the Black Cats signed four young strikers during last summer’s transfer window, yet none of them have looked ready to make a significant impact at Championship level. “At the end of the day whoever comes in is someone who needs to get results,” said Bennett when discussing Sunderland’s head coach decision. “As long as he gets results then everybody is going to be happy. You can’t say such and such a coach is going to come in and guarantee you wins. “You want a coach to come in, get a team together, hopefully play attractive football, but the most important thing is getting points on the board. As long as you get points you are happy. “There is no such thing as you are identifying one coach who is going to come in and do the business. After three, four, five games whatever, if he’s not going to get results you know what’s going to happen, the supporters will be unhappy. That is football, it’s about results.“ https://www.sunderlandecho.com/spor...=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1714634227
https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/j...W9lJUmxLz2_In_ofYtHloRuvK-Xnum9Wd_uKQuujmkIuU One thing i find confusing and if somebody can explain then please do, but how does a team like Ipswich afford his wages with an average gate of about 25k and we get an average higher gate than most teams in europe?? Also if we add up Burstows wages, Hemir, Mayenda and Rusyn, we could have had 2 good experienced strikers on the same money as them 4 combind.??
Attendances barely even scrape the surface of income. And considering we'll have to hire more staff and have higher stadium upkeep costs due to it being bigger i'd say we both probably earn about the same from ticket sales.
