It's the afters that have pissed me off. I can accept a bit of stupidity in a heated moment, but trying to justify it afterwards isn't on.
I think his value will have dropped quite significantly over the last year. As I've said before, I'm only marginally interested in club finances, so I don't really care what he's worth. It's his attitude, and his waning ability that are crucial to me. I was happy keeping him when he was a functioning part of the team - though I was always against his massive pay-rise. I'd have sold him then rather than give in to his (or his agent's) demands. The whole idea of star status amongst footballers leaves me cold - you're part of a team, even the very best can't succeed on their own.
From what I have breifly read he sounds like another Gomez can Play RB, CB, DM and occassionally LB. For the Dutch national Team he has played CB mainly next VVD
He shouldn't be coming at all given thry are still playing football in Holland and his new/old.manager is not in place. It'd be madness to go pick up a player like this just to please slot already. At least buy for the standard of club.
Not tall enough. You heard it here first. Do not sign a player for cb thats under 6' 3" and don't bother buying a rb at all unless you intend to sell trent or make him a midfielder.
I hope Salah stays. He isn't going to get any faster, once the speed goes, it's not coming back and he needs to find his shooting boots again but I'm not into writing him off after all he's done for this team. The argument wasn't a good look but I'm not bothered by it at all. Don't forget Klopp himself has previous for touchline arguments, not with players but officials. The difference is, the arguments with the officials have been linked with grassroots football and disrespect of officials. Both manager and player are role models whether they like it or not. Salah's little tantrum is unlikely to affect the behaviour of youngsters at grassroots level unlike disrespecting officials. I don't recall us calling for Klopp to go after his touchline spats.
He could mean that if he speaks media will make more of it then it needs to be. maybe he isn’t directly criticising the boss / club
I did wonder the same thing tbh. As in anything he says the media will take and use it to fuel a fire that doesn’t really exist. It’s a turn of phrase that doesn’t actually mean anything. I’ve never heard anyone use the term ‘there will be fire’? Given klopps said it was done and sorted in dressing room, everything else is just pure speculation to get clicks
Yep, thought the same thing. Was embarrassing and a shame to see, but I’m certain it’ll have been sorted and I’d imagine he’s apologised
On the comment alone you can forgive and forget but not whrn you look at the footage of him going back for more mouth at klopp. In the context of seeing him have an "and another thing" rant at klopp then his comment to press was piss poor. It's quite reasonable to conclude his ego is bruised from sitting on the bench
According to lip reader, Klopp was annoyed because Salah wasn't ready to come on quickly enough. Meanwhile they score, Klopp says something (unseen) to which Salah responds "there's nothing I can do about it, nothing".
Fabio Aurelio 2.0 Other than goalkeeper, I don't think there's anywhere Rafa didn't try playing him at least once.
I'd like him to make a public apology, as it was a very public display. This isn't just about what goes on between them, it's the message it sends to the fans.
