just wanted to say hats off to spurs for this run of form they are in.
as a liverpool fan , you have gotta say this spurs team is well able to actually go win the premiership ..yet alone qualify for the champs league .
what is it now....9 wins outta 10 ...and banging in plenty of goals.
scott parker has been a gem of a signing for ye.......

think the top 6 will be city spurs united arsenal chelsea then us :emoticon-0107-sweat

    Cheers! <ok>

The thing that's changed, in my opinion, is that we're capable of grinding out results now.
The team has so much confidence that even when we're playing badly or losing, they still think that we're going to go on and take the points.
They pick themselves up, get on the ball and never give up.

    Thanks for the comments.

I think we are still a couple of players short for a title challenge.

Hoping you guys can start getting points too so we can all keep the gooners and the chavs out of the top 4.

My old man is a red scouser and all my family still live that way so I like to see Liverpool do well - apart from when you play us of course :)

  4. We are grinding out results, PNP, that is true, but we have that attitude that we do not know when we are beat. It's exactly the same attitude that all the great clubs have had, over successive seasons; and it is materialising at a time when the likes of United, Chelsea and 'Pool are being eaten up by doubt about their own potential to continue their previous dominance.

It is for these reasons that I am not at all surprised that we are doing so well, and will continue to do well, not only for the remainder of this season, but for seasons to come.

The Gooners, the Chavs, and the Mickey Mousers will express their surprise, because there comes a point when their arrogance can no longer protect them from the truth.

Do you know what? I agree absolutely. When the ex Sky 4 look forward, they see themselves either priced out by Citeh or Hamstrung by the new EUFA regs.

Arsenal, always promise never deliver (with better squads)
Man U. Old baconface can't last forever.
Chelsea. Too old AND too young, depending on your point of view.
Liverpool. Who knows? Look what happened when we added the right 2 players to an already talented squad.

  6. Blimey! Steady on, Chirps! Take a few deep breaths before you come out with comments like that, or at least give me some warning! <laugh>

In all seriousness, what I love about results like this is that they, more than anything show just how far we have come in just two seasons. We have an appalling record against WBA, especially away from home, but we've gone there and got the result, and without two key midfield players. What more proof does even the most pessimistic of the Spurs faithful need that we are a completely different proposition from Spurs teams of the past? If one cannot love this Spurs team, one should netball, or tiddlywinks <laugh>

I think this is exactly the sort the sort of game we would have lost 12-18 months ago. I am still not painting the front of the house white and blue yet HIAG, but if we combine this ability to grind out results against, with all due respect to the baggies, "lesser" teams and carry this confidence into games against the big 4 (who already have problems of their own) who knows? You might just be hailed as the bloke wot spotted it first....

  8. I'd take that over "the bloke who had his bollocks nailed to a tree for jinxing our season" any day of the week!

  10. Well, I've been bigging-up our chances since before the season began, and all the lads have done so far is prove me right to have had that faith in them. Surely, none would expect me to falter now, any more than I expect them to falter?

"UNREAL form" from Spurs? You're obviously too young to remember Spurs with a top coach before. If you weren't you'd obviously know that this is REAL form from Spurs with a top coach. We have been here before, this is not new.

Thanks to the OP for his kind words, our form is indeed unreal. It is in the dream-like category. The best Spurs team I've ever seen in absolute terms, we play with skill and pace. Even when we are 'grinding out results' it's done with artistry, clean play and attacking intent, not 'percentage football, time wasting, fouling and cheating' which are often the hallmarks of teams who consistently do the 'grinding bit'.

We were the better team yesterday and the amount of attempts we had on goal (23 I believe) was superb for an away team, and I think we won the corner count 10-1 despite being an away team 'under pressure', staggering stat.

Game after game is a cracker for 'the neutral', because we play football and allow the oppo to play too. Just like we lit up the CL last year, we are lighting up the Prem this year, we are without doubt the best team to watch in the country.

It's new to me and I've been a Spurs fan since the 80s! <laugh>
I honestly can't remember us going on a run like this.
9 wins and a draw, including victories over Arsenal and Liverpool, with 5 of the wins being away from home?
    I can't recall it if it's happened.

Sprog. I can remember Spurs being in third place a few times now. It's unreal form from Man City really isn't it? They are what's stopping us a bit. No PNP,I can remember Spurs doing this before. It's unreal form from Chelsea a bit but not from Liverpool and Utd or Arsenal who might have suffered a CL hangover yesterday but I'm hoping their form along with City's will dip. This is totally out of character from City and Newcastle have done something similar before but never quite maintain it for a whole season. Newcastle and Chelsea next week and I'm rooting for the Magpies. We can pull away from Chelsea next week.

I'm sure that you can TMT, but when was it?
Maybe I've blanked it out, but we rarely take 28 points out of a possible 30.

It's nice to note that we've also played less home games than everyone else in the division, too.
We've played 2 less than Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea and we'll have played 2 less than Liverpool after today.

AFAIK, we haven't had a 10 match lge run as good as this since the 60s. Might be wrong of course.

I've been supporting Spurs for over 50 years and I don't remember a run as good as this since 1961, but I wouldn't bet money on my memory regarding this one.

    It's certainly looking good.

Last season we failed to beat the team we should, week in week out this Spurs side are out doing my expectations.

I would have taken a draw away to Fulham the other week but they took all 3 points.

It's important we build a nice gap to lower morale of the chasing pack.

We have a tough February and March regards to fixtures but if we keep playing like this the sky really is the limit.

to the above bloke who said that this form is nothing new to spurs....well im a 33 year of age lfc fan and i cant remember spurs being this good in 25 years ......thats not to say you werent good in the 70's .........

to be very honest lads i prefer everyone saying that liverpool are finished and average because barring that horrific 4-0 loss to you ......we have played decent enough , we've also beaten the gunners and chelsea and should have put united away ...and also the post has stopped us winning games we should have really won.....

but as far as the title goes....its city to lose , and united will be there about....and on this form..cans see spurs being there too.....

it will be an interesting run in , thats for sure

City are early season pacemakers and those rarely last the distance so I expect City not to. I'm the poster who said he remembers Spurs doing this before and it was back in the 60's ok Red and PNP. I posted that this isn't unreal form from Liverpool,it's quite normal of the Liverpool of the Ray Clemence era and Grobelaar. Yes Red you have done quite well with a fair bunch of just above average managers. Who will succeed KD is going to be your biggest headache in modern times.......who?

Giving him the benefit of the doubt and assuming that Adebayor wants as much cash as possible in order to maximise his charitable work in Africa, surely there would be some way that Daniel Levy can compromise with Adebayor and ask him to take a wage cut on the basis that Spurs commit some money to his cause. This way Spurs stick to their wage structure (which I wholeheartedly agree with) and Adebayor can still have his charitable causes.
