Hadn't been to Sutton for years and unfortunately my recent visit was for a funeral in the bar which they have made a really nice job of.. I think the course has ben closed for a while because of water logging, not dissimilar to many courses in the area,,

Just back from my all day golf lesson. Really enjoyable and constructive. Spent the morning putting, chipping, pitching, bunker shots and a few long clubs on the range. The afternoon we played half a dozen holes on the course. Biggest change he made me do was to grip the club much more lightly than I had been doing, made a massive difference. Recommended I ditch my 3/4/5 irons and get a hybrid. He made me use a driver off the tee, something I've avoided for years. The club he lent me had a graphite shaft which was a revelation to me and it worked every time. So of course I just had to got to the shop on the way home and buy one...
That's it, I'm probably hooked now.

Sounds like a enjoyable day! Full days like that are so good for developing imo. An hour's good but by the time you're into it it's finished

    Sounds very beneficial.

May I ask where you did this and apologies if you’ve already said.

I recall a post about Oxford earlier but can’t be arsed to read the thread again.

I did at a course in Oxford, which is where I live. It’s called Hinksey Heights. Not the best of courses but it’s a friendly club.

A interesting read with a great title is the following golf book about caddies. According to my late mother, she was related to one of the caddies described in the book. How do I think she may have been telling the truth? The photo of the guy (more likely an etching print) reminds me of my maternal grandfather who looked like him - a right ugly bugger ! <laugh> Same surname!

I dislike most of these pro golfers, they come across as spoilt, entitled babies.
    McIlroy being the prime example.

Scheffler, however, I like the heft of his jib.

    Top bloke.

Has anyone see how Tyrell Hatton carries on?

It’s like he’s on day release from Broadmoor.
