Good Luck <ok>

Aintree
13,20 Monmiral 11/1 e/w Lads five places, 10/1 bet365 six places, 15/2 sky seven places
13,55 Jimmy Du Seuil 5/1 bet365, Lads and Coral

Grand National
My bets:
Mr Incredible 33/1 e/w
Latenightpass 33/1 e/w
Chemical Energy 33/1 e/w
Roi Mage 66/1 e/w
Chambard 100/1 e/w

Five horses this year instead of four (as usual) because a couple of weeks ago it looked like Chemical Energy was not going to run (ground against him). So I decided to replace him with Roi Mage, who I bet last year and was seventh.

Good luck to all.

Grand National:

Vanillier

A top-class chaser but one that can hardly be described as 'consistent', as his form is a real mixed-bag of excellent performances and very disappointing ones. So, can only hope that this will be a 'going' day for him!

Last year I selected Mr Incredible, who was running a very good race until a freak incident occurred second time round close to the near fence. Apparently his saddle slipped, which resulted in his jockey being unseated. Was certainly bad luck for the horse, but that's horse racing! Hopefully this year nothing like that will happen. So, I include Mr Invincible along with Vanillier.

That's it folks. Wish you all the best of luck with your selections! Most importantly, let's pray that all horses and jockeys return home safely, uninjured and safe and sound. <bubbly>

Well, in the end there will be four like every year, Chambard NR.

I am maximus for me in the GN to top off a great Aintree festival for those colours, Mullins and Townsend. Have to say it’s been great not to see Mr Ryanair’s mug on the tv long may it continue.

Aintree
14,30 Kinondo Kwetu 20/1 e/w four places, 18/1 Sky five places

Away from Aintree

4.25 Yarmouth-Morawig

Each Way @ 12-1 [Bet 365]

Should improve now been gelded

Ground at Aintree now reported as soft, good to soft in a few places on the National course. I’m sceptical of that assessment to be honest but if it is accurate it definitely helps the chances of Kittys Light. To be honest if one of my 3 doesn’t win I’d like Mullins to prevail. Long term that would be in the best interests of British NH racing. Good luck all.

Few arrows at the English National:

Mahler Mission 14/1 - hopefully doesn't overdo it on the front end, if he can settle nicely up there and get in a rhythm them he should be able to run a big race today.

Stattler 50/1 - I am hoping his recent form has been tinkering around with this in mind. If he is feeling it then he can play a big part in this field at rewarding odds.

Corach Rambler 8/1 - I feel a lot are priced up at the top end that have no chance of winning and now he has drifted to a very reasonable price again he simply has to be backed at these odds after hosing up last year.

Best of luck all. May they all come back safe and sound.

Its been a very enjoyable two days at Aintree which was needed after a pretty ordinary spectacle recently at Cheltenham. My darts today. Have a good day everyone

To describe it as "English National" is your business, but it's surely very insulting to Scotland, Wales, and NI? I admit to being biased in this respect with no apologies, as it will always be the "Grand National" for me.

They all have their own Nationals don't they? Or has that all changed recently. Pretty sure there was a Scottish, Welsh and Ulster National. We had our very own Irish one only two weeks ago.

Not sure what difference it makes really.
