Had Utd won 3-1 city and Liverpool would have had identical stats. I’m hoping for a change of winner this time and hope Arsenal get the job done.
Such a character. RIP PS: When we were doing the curry puns yesterday I was going to mention Joe Paneer as our next manager, and glad I didn't.
I missed the curry puns yesterday had to pick up Mrs SR from work But seriously RIP Joe, certainly a character
Hmm if cheating gets you a player who earns you 6 points but you are only deducted two points… definitely worth it!
Yeah, the punishment is barely anything. Hardly a deterrent to not break the rules in the future. Take Forest. Sure, they needed to sign players last season to give them a chance of surviving. But it's a jump to say, for example, that they needed to spend £40m on Morgan Gibbs-White. They did that because he's a very good player. We were in the PL for over a decade, and never came close to spending £40m on one player. If their punishment is four measly points, other clubs might be more inclined to break the rules in the future too. If I was Forest, I'd rather have MGW than four extra points.
And then more clubs will take financial risk and some might go to the wall. And this is what FFP and the punishments were supposed to stop
PL clubs have FINALLY agreed to introduce the semi-automated offside technology for VAR use next season. So much quicker than the line drawing bollocks.
Very simply: the system uses cameras mounted on the roof of stadia to track both the ball and players and can detect when players are in an offside position when they get the ball (there is a tracker inside the ball). When a player is in an offside position the system sends an alert through to the VAR room. The VAR will then double check the point the ball was kicked and the automatically created offside line and sends the final decision to the on field referee.
