One of the things he's been pushing is the number of sportsman collapsing in action since the pandemic and vaccines. The numbers are there for all too see so there is a possible argument for this.

The chemtrail conspiracy is a biggie in the nutjob world.
The problem is they operate in the same way as a lot of con-artists, mention one or two relatively low-level things that you're likely to agree with then crank it up to ridiculous levels saying "well I was right about the other thing wasn't I?".
So, showing some stats for people with unfortunate side-effects to vaccines becomes a global conspiracy to kill us all off in their deluded minds.
Politicians are often corrupt? Yeah we all agree with that - therefore politicians throughout the world are all in cahoots to destroy us, along with the medical profession, all scientists of every discipline. And NASA, apparently.
Chemtrails, flat-Earth, 5g death-ray, Lizard People, aliens, demonic possession etc...
Conspiracy nuts lap them all up - even the ones that are mutually exclusive.

I've been reading about all the Yanks thinking it's a government plot in order to...something or other. And that it's the end of the world again.
It amazes me that in this technological world we still have people whose understanding is stuck in the Dark Ages.

Saw something online about guy that has put tinfoil in all his windows as he feared once the eclipse was over the sun would be so bright that it would burn everything.

May have been completely made up so take with punch of salt, but if was true I’m not sure how strong he thinks tinfoil is and what his plan was when everyone and everything else had been burned to the ground by the sun!

Well, the extreme right has already accused anyone vaguely leftish of being involved in child abduction for adrenochrome harvesting - so it's only a matter of time before they start accusing them of eating babies I suppose.
Like I said earlier, it's like something from the Dark Ages.

Are there some? Probably. Are there a lot? Probably not, but far more than there should be.

I never hear people in person espousing these most ridiculous conspiracy theories, but maybe I'm not hanging around the craziest people out there. The only time I see people backing up the really crazy things is online- and the two people I've communicated with most are Sisu and Aberdude from not606 (neither are American). That said, some of the media (talk radio and channels like Fox) have some pretty wacky conspiracy theories they promote... couldn't say how many people believe them or not but they reach a lot of ears. I've never met anyone in person who has told me they believe in the wackiest theories. (at least not that I remember).

I think crazies tend to get overrepresented online because they're more visible and hide in their caves in person. Sisu is probably a quiet, shy humble person in the real world and his neighbours and coworkers have no idea how crazy he really is. I suspect the American crazies are the same.

I have two friends who believe in this stuff - one a closer friend than the other. The problem is they're both decent blokes, would do anything for you. Their hearts are in the right place but their heads are on another planet somewhere.
I resist getting into a conversation with either because I'll lose my **** listening to it.
I gave a lift to one once and he started banging on about it - I almost threw him out of the car.

I wonder if the Trump people believe the crap since he partially campaigns on that nonsense, or if they just ignore it... honestly, I don't really know many Trump people (and that's despite being in what is just about his strongest state). The ones I do know don't seem quite so crazy... but I don't discuss politics with them.

I like reading about conspiracy theories as they are usually so insane that I find it interesting how people justify them. The danger is you then find one that interests you and start reading, there's so much information that it seems plausible. Unless you challenge and investigate the so called facts you get sucked in.

On saying that I'm completely against the COVID vaccination because of what I've read and unfortunately seen around me. So to some I'm a conspiracy nut.

Are you against the vaccine, or do you think it's all a lie?
I had Covid right at the beginning - before vaccines and before any treatment other than emergency measures were available. I wasn't hospitalised ill, but I was wiped out for months and it took me almost two years for symptoms to clear.
I had vaccines when they came out. I've had the virus two - possibly three times since - each time with progressively fewer symptoms and shorter recovery time. You could argue that that's due to natural immunities building up and that is a possibility of course, but that's what a vaccine is designed to promote, it can't prevent you from getting it, but it prepares your body to fight it.
I've had lots of viruses down the years and this was certainly completely unlike anything I'd experienced before. A neighbour who caught it at the same time as me has still not recovered fully after four years, she probably never will. She's a lot younger than me too.
I know two people who died from it.
The vaccine might not have been the perfect response, but it was an emergency measure for what could have been a disastrous situation.

I'm against the vaccine, you've probably seen the accusations that it has caused ongoing health problems and that it's linked to heart conditions and clots. I've seen an unusual amount of people within my family and friends and local area be affected by this and we are talking about younger people here.
I wish I hadn't taken the initial vaccine but we were scared into it. I haven't had one since and have had COVID 3 or 4 times.

It may well be worth taking if you are vulnerable, I don't know. There's certainly a higher risk from COVID if you are older or have a medical condition.

I agree that if you're young and healthy then you probably don't need it, but then there's the argument that an asymptomatic carrier can pass it on unknowingly to others. I just don't know what's best and I don't think anyone does. The response, like I said was just a fumble in the dark mostly.
Anyway, I don't consider a mistrust of the vaccine to be worthy of being called a conspiracy nut so you're safe on that one I think. The conspiracies surrounding it are along the lines that it was a deliberate attempt to reduce the population, or biological warfare or whatever.
That ties it in with other conspiracy ideas - people who are prone to lapping them up have to see agency behind everything, they can't accept that things can just happen due to natural causes. Somebody must be behind it, and they're always malevolent.
