No. I would be stood in the safe standing area, You would put your seat down and demand everyone in front of you did the same as they were blocking their view. And, if you think that sort of thing would not happen the original proposal for safe standing here is that a number would be allocated for each space, as in a seat number but the seat would not be locked in place like it is in .Germany where they have two rows standing in some places between each barrier and here you would have the option to sit. There complaints at a couple of places here that they have trialled it that people have got a ticket in that area because it was the cheapest and then sat down and started demanding others sit down. Of course no City fans would carry on like that. Oh no…Apparently they quite rightly got short shrift.
You're not suggesting that fans sometimes need 'educating' are you?

Seriously though, the simple solution would be to not make it the cheapest, and disclaimers on the ticket that people are entitled to stand in those areas.

I wasn’t referring to you in person. A general observation, I know of people being ejected at away games because our own fans have got the stewards involved. Something which surprised the stewards because they were more used to fans all sticking together.
I was one row from the top at Doncaster, and the silly bint behind me complained about me standing. I offered to change places, no surprises at what her response was. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

It's the SAG I believe that would have to green light it, but there should be common guidance available to both club and SAG so any proposal would need to meet that and there shouldn't be any surprises.

In theory.

I should imagine the police could interfere. Hopefully a different senior officer in charge now from the clueless one who when the subject was first brought up had never seen how safe standing works said he was against it as it would mean a return to surges down the terraces and fans running across and getting involved in pitched battles. Obviously never seen the yellow wall at Dortmund with more behind one goal than .the MKM holds.
Objections from the SAG and police are what stops the away fans being pit in the .North West Corner, the area required would be smaller than the one occupied by City fans at the moment and then having City fans all the way from the middle of North Stand.all the way round to the East Stand in one section.
We were told for years that we had to have large sections of segregation between fans as they couldn’t match the areas up with the concourses. Now, under our new owners, we have barriers up with just an aisle between fans. Still a silly amount of stewards in the aisle in East Stand and stood in front of half a section in North Stand and constantly walking about but some progress has been made.

That’s very presumptuous of you, telling me how I’d behave. People can stand or sit, whatever they want. I wouldn’t demand anyone do anything. I’m all for safe standing and the atmosphere it would create.

Would I buy a seat there myself? Probably not. I think it’s very unlikely fans that know they like to sit are going to buy tickets in standing areas.

Maybe the fact you called her a “silly bint” just now suggests you maybe didn’t approach the suggestion of switching seats with the warmth and kindness you think you did?

Of course they should be the cheapest. Why do you think we hear so much about how cheap tickets are in Germany? That is for the large, standing areas. Seats down the side are just as expensive as most PL stadiums.
They could do what they did when they started the New York Red Bulls. My cousin lived in New York. They wanted a European atmosphere. Tickets behind the goal had printed on them “Do not complain about people standing or shouting in this area as that is what we want them to do”. More surprisingly in litigation mad USA some stadiums have area at the front behind the goals where smoke canisters are allowed. What is not allowed is being daft and throwing them about or using them outside those areas.

Make some seats equally cheap there's no excuses.

Where did I tell you how you would behave? Why do you think everything is about you!
Fans in stadiums where they had trials have done exactly what you say they would be unlikely to do. What makes you think we haven’t any who would do the same? The best solution is to have the seats fixed up and it made clear it was standing only. The seats would only need to come down when, I say when and not if although don’t think it will be in my lifetime, we get into Europe or hold some sort of international.

You are being daft. How do you think the club would have the money to spend. Bayern Munich don’t have money because every seat is cheap, If people want to sit expect to pay a premium. Especially down the side.

We're already subsidising seats. Do you think we're going to bring in safe standing with it's associated cost and make it even cheaper?

If they kept the price behind the goal as it is it would still be more than reasonable.

So you think that they should subsidise more seats for more than they are doing now?

2 sides of the same coin isn't it? But I'd expect the associated cost of installing railed seating to be covered by those using it.

it'll be down to the clubs pricing strategy who pays what, but I'd pay a supplement if it meant I could stand with no hassle.

Ulltimately it'll come down to good old supply and demand I guess.

I formed the opinion she was a silly bint after her response to me offering to switch seats, maybe me not offering to wash her feet had something to do with her response to my polite suggestion. Or maybe (as we seem to be going on maybes) you were the sour faced **** sat with her. That is all. :emoticon-0125-mmm:

I bet the women in your life would love to be called “silly bint” and “sour faced ****” and wouldn’t feel like they were being degraded at all. Maybe try it out some time?
