Its quite apparent that the entire Everton saga has been a farce. The minute you got points back, they made the entire process one big ****ing joke. Like I said, either give Everton all 10 back or nothing. Random numbers like 4 just showed they had no balls and no case.
Well I'm just putting out that there's still going to be sporting sanctions in some way shape or form. I'm guessing a cap on this luxury tax and the big 6 it'll be higher based on revenue.
I'd still just say **** it, so what. If Everton only got 6 points for clearly being over, then it's still worth a punt. Precedent has been set now. They can't pick and choose the level of seveeity purely based on which club it is. If Forest & Everton don't get further points deductions for the latest charges, then the PL simply have no power.
They could make it 40 points if you go wild. Newcastle have to at least follow the rules unfortunately.
Making it up as they go along. What’s the point of allowing clubs to go over the limit if they pay this luxury tax but still punishing them with points deductions. Typically ludicrous idea
Not really it would be based on the size of the overspend and whether they were honest. If a club is 50 million or 200 million it's not the same...... you can't expect a 6 point fine if you just took the piss to new levels. Everton lied Forest didn't so the offence isn't everything either. Get rid though.
No idea what Everton or Forest have to do with it. Allowing you to go over the limit but still deducting points essentially leaves what we have now. A limit where you get points deductions for going over it. The “fine” or “tax” is just an addition.
There's levels is the point.. it's not just a case of going over and you get 6. Obi was saying just ignore.. unfortunately the more they go over the worse it will get penalty wise. This tax idea is an unknown at the moment and I don't think it'll be what people think it is.
Fair point but still seems pointless as it’s a points deduction if you go over the limit just like now. It would become farcical if teams could essentially choose their points deduction for the season in advance and realistically no team wants any points deduction which may cost a valuable European place so we are left with a spending limit just like now. Totally pointless
I know which is why I'm wondering what the actual rules will be .. I'm thinking either a straight up cap for all clubs or something % based around revenue. Neither would be pointless it would allow for more spend just not a free reign to spend what you like without deductions Ideally a cap for all, but that would be fair so I don't see that happenin.
I couldn’t give a **** about ffp. Just get rid of all this related party fair value non sense and go have every Saudi company going becoming corporate sponsors and partners
Maybe aye but % based would still favour the order which is most likely imo. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think it'll make the difference people think it will.
FFP in its current guise was always flawed long term. As others have said, the very fact the PL don't have a rule written down with what the punishment would be is mind boggling. They make **** up at the coffee machine is what it looks like. As for this new related party sponsorship rule. They clearly put a ton of thought into that one. Why would someone purchase a club if they are then not allowed to advertise their other businesses? It was always bonkers. It suited Liverpool and Spurs and Arsenal down to the ground (I'd say Man Utd but I can see Diego lurking )
My thoughts are Man City's lawyers have done exactly what we did, demanded full disclosure and got the **** that would drop certain clubs and the PL in deep **** and this is the only way they can get out of it and save face.
