Unconnected to the topic. Twenty plus years ago a friend of mine Scooter (RIP) helped raise money for that flag which came to be called George the forty foot St George. I didn't know the flag still existed. Top photo.

These supporters give a very balanced and sensible view. It’s hard to argue with much of what they are saying.

I don’t disagree at all, I felt exactly the same at this point last season as well. As a club, we just don’t seem to kick on to the next level. Last season we still had Alex Scott as well, so maybe a touch more disappointment last season. With his sale (and Semenyo), we the fans assumed - wrongly…. that would mean more funds released to improve the squad. Although quite a lot was spent, nowhere near enough of the £35m raised was given in the summer, or Jan windows to appease the fans. Let’s hope this summer some more is released to strengthen, or we will all feel like this again next season.

The squad doesn’t have enough quality in depth that’s obvious to anyone regardless of who the manager/coach is. If we don’t add numbers and quality in the summer we’re in trouble, especially if, as is likely, we lose a lot of our senior pro’s.

I believe we do need to add numbers/quality, but not because I think we will be in trouble but to have any hope of competing for a top 6 finish

We’ve struggled this season for numbers and next season we’ll lose king, James, Williams , probably Conway, just off the top of my head, apart from King all good first team players, and lots of experience, I know there are a couple already signed to come in, but none of them are experienced championship players, nor are they senior pros

You might be right, be good to hold on to James & Williams. As for Conway, although would be nice to keep him, he runs a bit hot and cold for me, so depends how that plays out....won't lose sleep if he goes tbh

I can’t see anyone coming in for Conway except for possibly another championship club
He’s far from the finished article
I also don’t think that the purse strings will be relaxed enough to buy any real quality
It will either be L1 hopefuls or older cast offs
