Music has always been a big part of my life, 80's was difficult though, 99% **** made that decade, thank **** for the Pearl Jam, Ten album in 1991 and it suddenly got so much better
In the 80's you had to go find good music as it wasn't really accessible. Lots of word of mouth and people borrowing vinyl. The mainstream ruled radio and TV but it was when I discovered The Fall and The Smiths 2 huge bands, indie giants The Stone Roses and The Charlatans as well. It's not the bad decade you think it is when you start digging it's just that you had the mainstream being forced on you.
Got to say most of the 80's stuff I do play, which isn't a lot, I actually discovered after that decade. Probably played Midnight Oil more than anyone else at the time. Like The Smith's but most of the other bands from the Manchester scene I only like bits and pieces of.
Old skool mixtape Banger I'd completely forgotten about randomly came across on Spotify and the neighbours have been getting blasted with it on repeat number 6 Full version, flash backs of playing this in whatever ringer I was driving to the Hatfield slave owner pikey and his **** son
Yeah, The Fall, The Smiths, Stone Roses, think Charlatans were 90's but... Public Enemy, De La Soul, EPMD, NWA. Erib & Rakim, Tribe Called Quest, Queen Latifah, Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, Beastie Boys, Biz Markie, Kate Bush, My Bloody Valentine, New Order, The Wedding Present, Pixies, Faith No More, Sonic Youth, Mudhoney and that whole Sub pop label stuff There's tons of great 80's tunes.
^^^^ Just comes in here and stamps all over it, without even a nod to the previous rude that and it's not the first time, either.
