Ha! Nice one Goldie. Unless I’ve misread your intelligence completely you know exactly what Radio Genoa is and delight in sharing it without personal comment because it backs up your worldview. Just like the other stuff from your X/Twitter feed you put on this thread. True or fake is immaterial nowadays, it seems. This, as NZZ has shown, is fake in favour of the populist right which is largely favourable to Putin. The more fear and hatred there is in Europe the better for the current Russian regime. Obviously. It's difficult to know who is behind Radio Genoa, and I note NZZ doesn't know either. If you look at who follows it on Twitter, there are perfectly respectable names, MP's, journalists like Julie Burchill, Allison Pearson. Of course, Elon Musk too, owner of the platform That's the only way I, as a punter, can judge. I doubt there is a media outlet in the world that hasn't put out a misleading report, advertently or inadvertently. And no UK newspaper is impartial. So, I'll take a keener interest in Genoa as a result of your post, but at present, I don't see it any more biased than any other account, and I've certainly seen no pro Russian bias, or I'd unfollow. What Genoa reports on, is also reflected in The Times, and I imagine other newspapers.
I don’t understand why the whole stupid thing hasn’t collapsed. I’m sure the nuts U.K. property market has a negative effect on the rest of the economy, not to mention real people’s lives. You must log in or register to see images

Modern capitalism in action. A fake economy!People borrowing against the 'value' of their property actually fuels the economy, allowing them to spend money they don't have. People in the UK owed £1,836.4 billion at the end of 2023.

Why would the government want to build the extra houses that are needed when the house price crash that might ensue would decrease personal spending and potentially cause a recession?
It's all built on sand.

I do agree that The Times is drifting in the same direction as Radio Genoa though. Lots of articles in their News section are in fact editorial comment now. I’ve complained to them about it, but have not had a response. I wouldn’t mind if they put this stuff in the comment section, where their contributors have opinions for money and I can ignore it easily. I like a daily read and am searching for an alternative, less obviously biased paper. The Neue Zurcher Zeitung, a Swiss liberal centre right paper with a reputation for straight reporting and focus on international news would fit the bill but it only has a twice weekly selection in English. The Wall Street Journal has the best unbiased scores, but man it’s dull. Hopefully I’ll find something soon.
If that’s the case then more homeowners would allow more to borrow against their property. The real deterrent to building homes is upsetting the old codgers who bought for 50p and own outright.

I expect NZZ to be reporting on this imminently...or not![]()
