I think this thread was born from a little bit of info and not a lot of research into managers and the lengths of their tenure. Maybe BOB did not mean it as a pop at the club but it certainly looks like that, as it was a cheap and easy way to have a dig and if it had come from one of the local journalists we would be having a right dig back.
In truth at the minute the club are an easy target for criticism and I will hold my hands up and say it is a bit more difficult to be a supporter during these times, but the truth is as supporters we have been through so much worse so I find it hard when the knife can be stuck in so easy.
I guess the value of support comes when your back is against the wall and you are struggling and then someone who you have previously let down badly turns up and offers their help and support, is our club not a bit like this at the minute. Its easy to support in the good times or on the big occasions but where is this support when it is really needed. Supporting in the good times is easy showing that support in the bad times is much more difficult.
What I am basically saying is have an opinion but make it valid! complain but make it valid! also balance your views with some positive stuff and maybe focus on some of the things we have got right. there tends to be a lot of posts with real negative feel to them and when confronted with positive stuff they begrudgingly agree and then go back to the negative posting again.
It is a forum and views and opinions are valid some posters see more negative and some more positive but I think we should be able to balance opinions and post with some degree of thought or research especially with regard to your own club and not feed negativity falsely or without due thought.

    Rant Owa !!

Shocking that mind. Probably a few reasons but the power of the player, social media and financial pressure 3 that might be factors

Doesn't give my dream of a coach that stays long term, grows with us and helps really build something much hope

If you look at most clubs (but certainly not all) it wasn't unusual to have managers in post for over 10 years prior to the 50s. We had Bob Kyle who did 23 years, Johnny Cochrane who did 11, and Bill Murray who did 18. From about the 60s the turnover starts to increase with managers doing perhaps 3 to 4 years. It just keeps gradually decreasing from then on. That's the same for most clubs. Obviously you get the odd long term one here and there but they are the exception.

It probably is down to the things that you say but I often think when people are calling for managers to be sacked they're not really thinking about what has gone wrong and just want someone to blame. I suppose that's to do with current attitudes in society. When you think about it though, the correlation between longevity and success is pretty clear, so you'd think fans, boards, media would be more patient.

Sorry if my reaction to this thread seemed OTT, I'm just tired of people digging away at the club.

We all know the issues but we're not a club in crisis as some keep trying to push.

Birmingham are a club in crisis yet some of our own supporters are claiming we're an embarrassment ...

... does anyone see Birmingham as a laughing stock?

That's what I'm hoping for too. It can happen. It's just rare.

I remember a Liverpool fan I know saying that he would replace Klopp if he didn't win a trophy soon and get Rafa back because Klopp bottled it finals! Obviously before he won every trophy going!

And if his 5 year plan fails I’ll still be going. The club made mistakes I’d bet my house they haven’t messed up as much a I have.

You have to wonder how many managers would have turned out good if they'd been given more time.

Well done marra for admitting the information you had was only part of the narrative. I think I read the article you quoted from, and it did strike me as sensational, easy dig at the club. I'm glad Norton lad has put our minds at rest.

Never get this “stop going till **** leaves the club” it’s SAFC who we are loyal and dedicated to and no individual or group will EVER stop me from going, lame excuse if you ask me

There's no reasoning with that kind of supporter. I'd like to think the vast majority of ours are realistic. Which should give the club pause when there's a reaction like the one to Beale's appointment. If the supporters were as bad as has been made out we'd have kicked off just as much with the appointment of Neil and Mowbray.

Some people think that not going to games puts pressure on the club to try harder ...

... I'd say 40,000 expectant supporters, in the ground, puts pressure on the club to try harder.

This, I’d love to be able to go every week, not back until the Blackburn game and i’m like a kid at Xmas about it despite the bad run, nothing at all beats matchday

My season ticket has gone unused many times this season mate. Would’ve happily sent it over to be used if needed.

Now I don't know these lads and everyone has an opinion and are entitled to it, but not going back until KLD goes? These lads have season tickets when Donald and Chaz were there? double relegation?I only ask because I find them not going back until KLD going is a bit extreme.
