I looked up emergency loans and it looks like it was abolished in 2016. Though at the time outfield players were loaned.
Best (worst) case scenario is a back line of Pembele-Hume-Hjelde-Styles At least it's only Hume playing out of position, but God help us if we get any more injuries. When is Alese back? Not that we can have any confidence in his ability to stay fit
In the Southampton press conference, Dodds said that Alese was "part training and running". Which doesn't sound like he's too far away but at the same time feels like he's very unlikely for this weekend.
After the international break I think. He's surely got to play at least one u21 game. Same for Embo whenever he's back and I think Evans is out for longer with a separate injury. Dack was supposed to play for u21s on Monday so not sure what happened there, but 3 months out with a hamstring is Cirkin levels of injury
The worry about Aji is we already rushed him back last season for the playoffs and he ended up with a further 7 months out, he comes back in Jan and we do exactly the same. We should bring him back in slowly or we risk ruining his career.
Surely the club would give Alese games for the u23, or whatever, before putting him back into the first team. They wouldn't be that desperate, surely... Otherwise, we all know what would happen...
We aren't going up or down this season (a couple of wins would be nice, just to confirm that) so I'd be handling the likes of Alese, Roberts, Cirkin, Embleton and Evans with kid gloves. Seems better to get these lads ready for next season
Is Pembele fit? Haven't seen or read anything since the last time I saw him coming on as a sub at the SOL. Worryingly he didn't look fit at all, surprised why he was brought on.
He’s named in the squad every game so isn’t injured, match fitness should be okay otherwise I assume we would have seen him in recent u21 games.
