The more I see of Pardew, the more I am impressed with the guy.

I suppose the real test will come in the summer when we see who he buys and if he can hold on to our best players, but so far he has done well.

I agree, seems to be a very good acquisition. Though i was never in the hater camp, it wasn't his fault what happened to Chris.
Specifically like the bit about the scouting network and the blog (which is normally decent) says:

It’s hard to know who exactly will be brought into the squad, but we have an inkling there may be more players coming in than we expect, with a few teenagers for the future, among those who are acquired.

I never disliked Pardew, but must admit he is going in the right direction and seems to be doing all the right things.

The scouting network has certainly reaped rewards already with the likes of Willo and Tiote.

Let's see what happenes in the summer and give Pardew a full season in charge before I'm 100% about him.

In the last several months an investment has also made in Newcastle’s scouting network, with more scouts now working for the Newcastle club, specifically in Europe.

It turns out over the weekend Alan was in France, while other scouts were at games in Holland, Belgium and the lower divisions of the English League, looking for young talent who may be brought to Newcastle this summer.

Thats what I love to hear :D

Team full of Tiote's in no time.

Just joined. Had to chuckle at Scun thorpe's name being modded.

I just joined as well. There was a story circulated years ago that Scun thorpe council put in new software at some point and when everyone turned up to work all their inboxes were empty. Everything addressed to them was being rejected because of bad language. Don't know if it was true or not but me laughing too! :)

I like the sound of what's mentioned in that article, especially:

I like that too. There seems to be alot of talent in France and Belgium at the moment and the prices aren't ridiculously high. Also Pardew with his recent history probably has a pretty good idea of the talent available in the lower leagues.

Great read. Liked the reference to practising crosses and work rate in the final third. With the exception of Barton our crossing has been pretty hit and miss this season. But in recent weeks I have noticed an improvement in the delivery from Jonas and Enrique in particular. With Raylor and Ferguson all hard at work practising as well it sounds good to me. Hopefully Jonas will carry on setting up a couple of goals a game!

I've noticed Jonas crossing earlier and Enrique pushing forward and crossing more, not be long before Enrique gets his first PL goal :D

Was thinking that too. In fact when Enrique went on that snakey run second half against Brom i thought that was the moment! But alas he just over ran it ...! :)

Enrique to score at the weekend!! Wonder what the odds are?? May be worth a cheeky £1 on
