Smith !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You ****ing beauty. We deserved that even with giving away dopey pens. By far the better team on the day. Great game and good to see us playing with a bit of verve. Earl is a tremendous player, one of the best in the world. Please give Smith a run in the side

What a great game. Fantastic by both sides. I thought Ireland had it. England didn't fade. Earl is a cracking player. Some pride restored

Well done to Eng. By far and away the better team on the day. Ball speed and defensive line speed were awesome. Never allowed Ireland to build momentum. Proud of our lads as they hung in right to the end.
Hopefully this will stop the nay sayers spouting sh1te about this team. Eng have good players and are building. It takes time.

Trouble is though Nuts, England have been ****e a lot recently and judging by Earls’ surly, graceless attitude after the game they know it. Who the **** cares how well they have been training if they can’t usually replicate that in a match? Great performance today though, even though your mob were clearly off the boil a bit and could despite that have won and no one would have complained.

Rugby is such a chaotic game. Supporters are sooooo fickle.
England would not have made it out of a few of the WC groups last year as they were in transition. SB made it clear he was going to solidify the defence first for as long as it took before he was going to layer up the offensive tactics. All the signs were there last year. Nobody chose to see them. A majestic defensive performance against SA in the semi final came up literally just short. SA went on to win but everyone just wanted to focus on the result, not the performance.

Eng moved on in this 6N to start developing their attack. Of course it was going to take multiple games to see the green shoots but still, supporters only saw the results. Felix Jones was added to the coaching Team…wow….what an appointment.
Today’s performance was class. Full of structure, passion and effort. You all should be proud of your team and realise you’re only on the first rung of the ladder. Exciting years ahead.

Yep, fair play mate. I should have listened to you and you're right, too many of us only really focused on the results etc.
I did say that it was nice to see England playing attacking rugby against Scotland, without the skills to quite pull it off.
I missed the game apart from the last 10 minutes and it seems that Borthwick is slowly making things happen.
Looking forward to seeing the highlights later.

    Obviously was generalising Col.
    You’ll enjoy the highlights.
The 6N need England back to their best and Italy in particular, getting stronger. Next year’s contest is already looking promising.

Just watched the entire game back and **** me, what a game!
England were so good with their carries and quick ball. Ireland superb as always around the breakdown.
Wonderful to now see England playing expansive rugby off the back of tremendous carriers over the gain line.
    Earle is an absolute monster.
Yet, even playing as well as they did, Ireland showed what a fantastic side they are by so nearly winning the match.
Best atmosphere at Twickenham for many a year and what a roar at the climax.
Sensational stuff and really promising for England going forward.

Definitely a rugby (as well as Sunderland) day today. Three good matches. The wooden spoon match should be a cracker, if Italy bring over to Wales the form that saw them beat Scotland. Ireland will beat Scotland and deservedly be crowned Winners of the Six Nations. France v England is another mouthwatering encounter, France probably favourites
