Nickson is already working on potential deals for the Magpies for the forthcoming summer window on Tyneside. It is understood that, after a barren January window caused by FFP roadblocks, Newcastle boss Howe is keen to make four or five new additions to his squad and get the Magpies back into serious contention for the top five.

I’d rather have him than Hall tbh. about the same price, Zinchenko is proven. Hall has potential, but he’s hardly set the place alight.

Inacio and Zinchenko would be mint. Not sure Zinchenko would swap Arsenal to come here with no CL football though but maybe he like's bridges?

**** me. So the underwhelming bollocks continues.

Someone needs to explain to me why Hall is going to be here when he doesn't play ANY games?

On Hall, Howe said: “I’m preparing for Lewis to be here for many years. I believe in him. He was brought here for the long term. There’s no magic wand — sometimes you just need patience, which I know is a rare commodity.”

Newcastle have discussed the possibility of signing Pedro Neto from Wolves this summer, with a fee of about £60m thought to be enough to sign the 23-year-old Portugal winger - although Liverpool are also interested. (Mail)

    Arsenal, Manchester United,
Newcastle and Chelsea are all showing interest in Borussia Monchengladbach's German left-back Luca Netz, 20. (HITC)

The Gunners and Newcastle United are interested in Sporting Lisbon centre-back Ousmane Diomande but both clubs are waiting to see whether Chelsea make an expected £69m bid for the 20-year-old Ivory Coast international. (TeamTalk)

I just don’t understand the Hall deal for 28m?

    We are getting ripped off.

It's easy to understand he was one of the best youth players available and Newcastle have invested in him.

    He's a good player.

I think there is a player in there but 28m……….

The fact he's better than Burn in many areas and he's only young. The world won't end this season and Hall is being developed just like Anderson and Miley. Let's not pretend Miley would have had so many starts if the entire midfield wasn't decimated by injury.

28 million is nowt for a top prospect mate Gordon was 50 at 21 and most people said we'd been ripped off.

Ultimately the key aspect is that Hall is a youth player and has things that need developing.

In a year or so, he might be a regular.

I think Howe is just slowly blending the young players in. Miley was accelerated due to necessity of players being out, but everyone else he typically brings in slowly to ensure they transition.

That said, Hall is an odd one. I would have expected to have seen more of him when we had 11+ players missing.

Possibly. I guess there is something there for them to work on.

Livermento I can see clearly there is a good player in there.

    Hall has potential. I admit.

But at this stage in our evolution is this deal right at this time?

But just imagine if he has ****ed up and cost us goals/games. He would be lambasted by our “great, supportive” fans and would never recover.
