    British Team:

    Hart (Over-23)
    Walker...Jones...Bertrand
    Walcott...Ramsey (Captain)...Wilshere...Rodwell...Bale
    Sturridge...Rooney (Over-23)

Plus Rudd, Smalling, M. Kelly, Beckham, Welbeck

    ---

Now can you honestly tell me that:

    A) This team wouldn't destroy the rest of the competition in the Olympics 2012
    B) You wouldn't want this team playing @ Euro 2012 (Think of the PACE!!!)

    a) no, it wouldn't win.
    b) it would concede 5 goals a game - there are no defensive players in the side AT ALL!!! all three defenders prefer getting forward, no defensive midfielders either! it would get thumped.
    c) not very british is it - bale and ramsey would of course get in but how about picking some players from scotland and northern ireland. its supposed to be a british team, not an english team.

Don't care a jot, I am English not British and have no interest at all in a British team. To be honest I normally avoid the Olympics like the plague as it bores me to tears, all that running, jumping and throwing things about ! <doh>
In any event, Football is NOT an Olympic sport, come to think of it neither is synchronised swimming !!!!! <laugh>

+1 My feelings at having to pay for this fiasco in the midst of a recession are not printable.

I always enjoy watching it, there's something very engrossing about watching people who have made huge sacrifices to represent their country and really care about how they perform. They just make footballers look very selfish and lazy.

There's no place for football as it isn't the pinnacle of that sport and its the same for tennis, basketball etc.
