Yeah how in the **** did you get relegated with a team like that?!
Thanks for Joe Cole by the way, he was awesome :p
Rot started 2 years earlier when Terry '****' Brown sacked Redknapp & Frank Lampard (the proper one, not the fat son) because he hadn't liked what he'd said in a fanzine. Then gave complete novice Roeder the job, sold half our squad and got Gary Breen in on a free to replace them.
In an alternate universe none of that happened, and we're the second coming of 50's Real.
We even did a 'tour for peace' in the Middle East and it's all sorted now, Jews and Palestinians live in harmony.

Aye your academy produced some ****ing awesome players in the late 90's! Cole, Rio, Defoe, Lampard, Johnson, Carrick.
If you'd kept them all together you'd have had a really special team there

yeah, sadly Terry Brown needed more money and a new Rolls Royce.
Also John Terry was in that West Ham youth team iirc.

Certainly going to be an interesting run in, if we turn City over we're in a great place but that's the trick isn't it. Gooners and City then have to play each other if we lose though it's wide open. In our hands I suppose.

yeah, it's stupid metric to use, it'll probably be Forest when they go down, or some other **** team in 5 years time, football inflation being what it is. I'd say our team of 02/03 is the best side to go down; David James, Glenn Johnson, Carrick, Joe Cole, Sinclair, Defoe, Kanoute, Di Canio.

Is that the year you went down with 42 points which was I believe the highest total of points for any team relegated

This year 32 points will be safe

I think Arsenal are sitting in third quietly, a little bit under the radar. IF Liverpool and City draw, Arsenal have the better GD and they've got another piss easy fixture at home against Brentford this Saturday - that fixture will put them top of the table before Pool & City kick-off. IF Arsenal can get something at City at the end of this month, they have a nice run in, the only obstacle to their path being Spurs. :bandit:

We also have to go to Utd as well as City and Spurs.

Some tough away games there

And I have a freshly fresh bookmark of yours saying we'll bottle it anyway :bandit:

Yeah we have to beat City if we are to win it.

Those games between City for both of us will define this season.

Our win against you was massive in the context of this season too.

We took 4 points from you and we've already taken 3 from City.

If we can avoid defeat at the Etihad then it will be two wins, two draws and no losses against both Liverpool and City.

A win at City would put us in a brilliant shot of the title, depending on their result against you.
