    Just watching the “
    Leeds v Leicester City game
    Wow what a game
We are a million miles from these two sides. As I put this down Foxes lead 1-0 and are by far the better side however Leeds are giving them a bloody good game.
However the rest in the championship are not a patch on these two sides.

There is a huge gulf between the Premiership and Championship...... Leeds will be relegated next season.
For Leicester Leeds this season it'll be Burnley/Luton/Everton/Sheffield United next season.
    Bloody ridiculous.

From what I’ve seen, we’re also a few steps behind the likes of Hull, Coventry and Preston
    Quite depressing

I watched the end of the game and saw the Leeds last 2 goals - both of which were wickedly deflected, so quite lucky imho.
We know both teams are very strong in this league - a glance at the league table and in particular the goal difference will tell you that. However, the Bristol City that turned up vs Southampton would give either team a good game. Trouble is for us, we never know if that team, or the one that faced QPR will be playing, whereas we know that both Leeds and Leicester ALWAYS turn up.

FOXES had a perfectly good goal disallowed which would have put them 2-0 up -were by far the better side for 70 minutes-when Leeds made the subs it made a massive difference and scored two goals deflected but shots on target made two goals-something city need to do more off.

we are actually 35+ goals short of being a top 2 team probably about 15 -20 goals short of a top 6

That shows how far City are off being a real contender.

The writing has been on the wall for some time now and when I see the top teams play fabulous football it breaks my City heart to say we are never up to the task. After a run of good performances in the F.A.Cup and against both Middelsbrough and Southampton where we played some of the beautiful game but later we reappeared as the team that looks lost without a true identity. The apathetic attitude from on high is definitely top of the list if you are looking as to why we have to endure this constant land of false promises and lousy lacklustre football. Getting it close to right is alright, and no apologies have to be made, but year after lousy year we have put up with mediocrity at best and that is being kind. From the mouths of the commentators in the recent match against Leeds who asked why this great stadium has never hosted Premier League football or even challenged for one? They both get it but for some unknown reason we, or you, don't - why?

Leicester and Leeds were my favourite at the season start and I don’t see any change at the seasons end.
By far the best sides in this league.

When it comes down to the rules and regulations regarding English football who are the main players? The English Football League, Football Association and the EFL are all listed as governing bodies of something or other and tbh I am not sure where they all fit into the overall scheme, and when you add in the Premier League it all goes bottom up for me. I recently saw an article on BBC Sport that mentioned what I believe was a system whereby the Premier clubs would contribute to the financial stability of all the other clubs in the EFL (Championship + Leagues One and Two?) and I also think it said that if they couldn't agree it would be forced on them by the authorities. Whether there is any truth in my comment or not is up for discussion but it really is time for parity to be re-introduced because this yo-yo promotion/relegation nonsense combined with the horrible parachute payments is a bridge too far for clubs like Bristol City and many others. Financial security is front and centre in the fight for survival and until such time as the mega wealthy contribute back to the sport's grass roots then a lot of our football heritage will disappear from view. I know that these ultra-rich overseas owners don't give a rat's arse about any other club than theirs but the time has come for whoever has the ultimate say in how English football is administered to step up and tell these owners and players that the time has come for them to pay their dues to the system that allowed them to thrive. No more elitism, unless we want the foundation upon which the entire sport was founded to collapse around us leaving many clubs struggling to stay afloat, whilst the cream of the crop thrive without a single thought to the rest.

A very good post, however I can’t see it happening unfortunately. There may be a bit of tinkering, but the elite will never agree to it, and those clubs around the edges, the yo yo clubs won’t want to lose their advantage either.
