ASM was also very injury prone. Swapping him out made as much sense as Wilson on that score. More when you consider Wilson had consistently been a better player for us when fit.
... and it was financially beneficial due to the amortisation of Barnes... Plus Barnes is much better. If we actually did have offers for Wilson in Jan, IF, then in my opinion we should have sold him for all the reasons I think we all agree on. It's a big if though... The papers will write absolutely anything.
Ahh, nice to see the club giving him plenty of 'days out'. Shame on all those who say Howe doesn't rest players.
Newcastle's style of play was not suitable when the additional games came into the equation. Unfortunately this was never addressed and once it was too mate it was too late. Adjustments will be made for the future.
You can all complain about me being out for my operation but I bet you like these badboys. Go on, admit it. You're confused right now, yeah? Yeah!
Aye, Callum Wilson needs replacing. Of that there's now no doubt. We can't go on like this. He can join ASM in the summer.
It sounds like Newcastle can't afford a striker and don't seem to be interested in wasting money on a 3rd that won't play if either of the other two are fit. The priority should be the left back , cb and rw because those areas are full of **** especially following one injury.
I've seen worse - ie Marcelino out for 3 months with a bad finger, Siem De Jong getting a pole in the eye, and Dave Bessant being injured by a salad cream jar. Wilson's fitness is better than Owen, but only just slightly. We need a powerful striker who stays fit.
