Apparently England's second innings score in the second Test was the second highest ever by an away team batting last in India. The bookmakers seem to have given India the series after their win (now 9/2 on), but I think this is a mistake. On the face of it, it was a comfortable win for India, but they were definitely rattled at times. Bazball frightens opposition teams. There were several factors that went against England in this game that, had they they gone our way, could have resulted in an unlikely win. Losing the toss is the obvious one, but a rogue DRS against Crawley, Stokes running himself out and the poor form of Root and Bairstow were also very significant. Not making excuses, we were well beaten, but England can still win this series. I'll be having a small interest at 11/2.

Are any of India's missing batsmen coming back, Kohli, Rahul and Jadeja immediately spring to mind. Gonna be hard work getting 20 wickets if they do, the 2 things we need to do are win the toss and post a 1st innings score of 400 plus. It would be nice not to have to pull off a miracle in every test ! Be nice to put them under it in a 1st innings for a change

Reported today that Kohli is going to miss the next two tests. :1980_boogie_down:

The Root dropped catch already looks like a pivotal moment in the game, along with losing the toss. You simply have to win the toss out here and score 400 plus 1st innings !

299/4...

In trouble already..... 2 reviews not taken that would have resulted in wickets and the dropped catch by Root makes for a depressing 1st day...... Just what we needed after last night....
Can't understand why we didn't review both ! 73 partnership here with debutant Sarfaraz spanking 61 of them off just 59 balls. Depressing

Jadeja on 99 hits it straight to the fielder, calls for a run then stops, Sarfaraz half way down the track and a direct throw takes a stump out the ground ! Good throw and a gift for us. Surely we take the new ball now !

The customary flying start by England's openers, particularly Duckett.

67-0 off 10 overs, with Duckett 50 not out already.

It may be a bit early to say this is going rather well, but...................................... this is going rather well
