It'll crank up again eventually, but people need to realise that 15 weeks isn't going to change much.
15 weeks can change a lot actually, as one year's PSR figures sail away, and are replaced by another, with significantly higher revenues.

It won't be revelationary, but there are players out of contract, some will be moved on and that will free up a decent chunk of wage / amortisation room.

I see , well I hope I'm wrong, but I think we'll end up feeling underwhelmed for a year or so and then they'll go again.

Not sure that's a good news imho. Trippier, Tino, Ashby, Krafth in that order at RB - Botman, New CB, Schar, Burn, Krafth at CB. So for me he's 4/5th choice in any position and don't understand why we'd be signing him for an extra year right now.

GK - Pope, Dubravka, New GK
RB - Trippier, Livarmento, Ashby
CB - Schar, New CB
CB - Botman, Burn
LB - Target, New LB
CM - Tonali, Anderson*, Miley~
CM - Bruno, Longstaff*
CM - Willock, Joelinton
RW - Almiron^, Murphy^
LW - Gordon, Barnes
CF - Isak, Wilson, New CF

25 on the list there as Miley doesn't need registering, Longstaff and Anderson are Homegrown so need to stay at present if we make any form of European football. But with that 25 players that's more than you could register for Europe with HG quotas so not sure where Krafth fit's in.

Upgrade/Bringing in, New GK, CB option, LB, RW (x2) and CF

Krafth signing a new contract is concerning as he barely ever plays, will judge at the end of summer but if we are targeting Bournemouth players as reported it doesn't exactly indicate an ambition to regain our place in the champions league any time soon. Love Eddie but he shouldn't be trusted with money

Of course this could be the club looking at the injuries this season and making sure we are stocked for next. Renewing Krafth's contract will be cheaper than bringing in new players so we could be seeing the defense stay fairly static in the summer with recruitment focused higher up the pitch.

We will likely have less PSR restrictions in the summer, however the difference may not be that much as we have to keep looking forward at least 3 years in any spending plans to ensure we do not fall foul of it in coming seasons.

My thought process was either he'll be on reduced wages on the new contract or they are trying to get a few quid for him in the summer. Even if its £1m that all goes towards the budget rather than lose him on a free. Or they know Trippier is off in the summer , Ashby still needs to develop so Tino and Krafth at RB for the year!

Scratch Wilson - He's dead.

Basically following Ashworths exit Howe will have gained more power, he'll then infiltrate the club with more of his mates including staff and players..... soon after maybe Christmas the damage will be done and the mess will need cleaning up..... that's my prediction anyway.
