At present there is no blue card and there is also no sin bin for fouls that stop promising attacks (SPA). The blue card would apply for those specific infringements of Dissent and SPA.
See a blue you are off for ten minutes. Yellow no ten minutes. Red sending off. That is simple, but the point was is how have the use of sin bins stopped the flow of football? They have not.
But it’s another unnecessary complication to a game that’s already been semi spoiled by interruptions to it and arguements over VAR decisions
I just see this as another reason to interfere and where does it all stop ?
Sin bins are a differing topic to VAR. Sin bins have had a trial for half a decade in England, and the results have been favourable.
Its not complicated there are fifty leagues in England using sin bins. You want to argue with the ref, you want to be a gobshite, **** around, technical foul to interrupt the game bosh have a blue card and a rest for ten (eight in kids football). There is no change to the laws there. There is no interference. Sin bins work smoothly and cut down on interruptions to the game.
In the professional game though players can be yellow carded for back chat etc, the refs don’t use it, I could understand the need if the powers they already have don’t work, but they would if only they used them, the only thing that this may cut out is the one for the team foul, where a player is past so defender takes a yellow to prevent a possible goal, although I’m not sure it would, as 10 mins out is still the better option.
Sin bins have cut out. Leagues where sins bins are used have seen reductions in dissent. These are facts, hence the leagues in question want sin bins to be permanent. Away from IFAB leagues in England want an additional card added, so its easier to distinguish what is occurring, an experience I have had as a coach is thinking the ref has sent players off versus players being given a temporary dismissal.
The underlined text there is incorrect. The punishment would be a red. Denying a clear goal scoring opportunity is a red. Stopping a promising attack has no red card punishment. Players foul less in the areas where denying a clear goal scoring opportunity come into play because they do not want to be red carded. The tactical/technical foul occurs mostly (60%+) when attacks break down in the first third of the pitch and teams will stop the attack almost instantly with a foul. The option the ref has, well he only has a free kick and a yellow card, this impotency has lead to these fouls increasing because of the lack of severity in punishment and cultural tactical changes in football.
If yellow were used more often for dissent wouldn’t that be more affective than a sin bin?, the problem being refs don’t use the yellow enough for dissent, if a player was yellowed for dissent , and then persists give him a second. players will continue to do it if they’re allowed to get away with it. The taking one for the team like you said is more relevant where it’s far enough up the field to warrant a yellow, if it denies a scoring opportunity it’s not done so much because it would result in a red. That kind of backs up my point, if yellows were used by refs more often for back chat it would be more likely to cut it out.

These leagues are not clubs ran by billionaire owners so it would be easy to apply......
If not full proof in its own right it would just end up another complication that nobody needs...

Where's the complication when there is no change to any law of the game?
In leagues there are clubs with billionaire owners whose teams are playing in leagues where sin bins are used. BCFC academy teams do play football in leagues using sin bins .
Leagues and clubs are asking for sin bins to be used more widely and to become permanent. The game needs improvement where poor behaviour and cheating is increasing because the games sanctions to enforce the laws of the game are not working.
More yellows are being issued for dissent and? Dissent continues to increase. Players are not getting the message.
You are misunderstanding the laws of the game. Fouling a player in his own half does not deny a clear goal scoring opportunity, it stops a promising attack. The two are different and have differing punishment (DOGSO) direct free kick and red, and (SPA) direct free kick and yellow.
Teams will routinely as an acceptable tactic stop promising attacks because a free kick and a yellow card is not a deterrent - SPA fouls are increasing as teams lead by example at the very top by fouling any opposing player in transition. Teams are the very top Man City foul faster and quicker players in transition. This condoned and normal cheating then permeates throughout football. The sanction football has to uphold its laws is failing.

What you are saying is, that the current referees in the professional game can't do there job properly.........after all these years?
The rules need to be clearer i.e handball etc, descent, cheating......yellow or red............get the rules right....good referee, there would be no need for blue cards..

The games culture has evolved. Behaviours change. Here footballs enforcement of the laws needs to develop. A good. great, or bad ref cannot administer a temporary dismissal, or a sending off for a player stopping a counter attack seventy metres away from goal if the laws punishment do not allow it.
The professional foul decreased because of a change in punishment. Remember Paul Allen and Will Young of Arsenal?. The ref couldn't send Willie Young off. There was no red card punishment for that offence. The FA lobbied IFAB and eventually the punishment was changed to a red.
so a player clean through on goal gets taken out thats currently a red but if that player is in in his own and the attack is ruined by a foul the ref could up the yellow to blue and ten minutes in the sin bin??? if there’s a promising enough attack on that you’re willing cynically to take a booking for to muller it, well a few minutes of in theory it being easier for your opponent to score feels somewhat fair to I!!

If they are going to change the laws for stopping a counter attack 70 meters from goal , no need to introduce a blue card, just make it a red. That will cut it out , a blue and off for 10 mins is still the better option, whereas if it’s a red, not so much.
I still think ref are too lenient with back chat, book any player who does it. You still see players doing and getting away with it in pretty much every game.
a red for a challenge where the opponents are probably not going to score?? bit over the top isnt it?
