Hull head coach Liam Rosenior:

"I am devastated with firstly the result and secondly our performance, which was nowhere near what we have been accustomed to here.

"From minute one to their goal we were second best. I haven't had to say that too often. We didn't win enough duels today, all over the pitch.

"We didn't get the basics right. I have a confident group of players, a young group. There is confidence in this group but I felt it was over-confidence today. In the first 10-15 minutes, our intensity wasn't there.

"We didn't show enough energy or tenacity to win headers, win tackles or to press the ball. The manner that we lost the game in today is not acceptable."

Swansea head coach Luke Williams:

"To come away from home and keep a clean sheet and to win, I am really proud of the players.

"Hull are a really talented team. They are difficult to keep quiet but for the most part we did that.

"And it's not like we scored and then defended the lead, we carried on trying to score goals.

"It should give us a huge lift. I think the players should see that they have come away to a really tough opponent and won. If they can't take confidence from that… I don't know what more we need to prove it."

Yeah.....Slater had a poor day..It happens....Tufan and Morton both had one to forget. The others were just anonymous.

20 consecutive minutes of good football and almost 180 consecutive minutes of shocking football since the Jan window closed.

I said after Millwall that the Rotherham game would be a good marker of where we are as a team. If anything I think a result there will just serve to mask over the issues again, like the first 20 minutes versus Millwall effectively did. I can't help but feel we hold a good league position despite our playing style, not necessarily because of it. It's as if Rosie's telling them the plan will work and we just have to be patient etc, then as a result we far too often see us playing too casually, conceding a goal and then huffing and puffing without really doing much of anything where it matters.

I've felt the same all season. There's even been a few times where we've been chasing a result and the players have "ditched" Rosieball and just gone all out attack to try and grab a goal.. its those moments when the handbrake is off where we look our best.

I honestly feel that Rosie has an idea of how he wants to play, and he's persisting with it no matter what. But in the end it will cost him his job. He's had 62 games now to test out his style and it hasnt got much easier on the eye even with the players we've brought in. As others have said, we often win games by a moment of brilliance, its not often that we look better than the opposition, we might outscore them, but really look a better passing team.

There's managers in the championship that are getting better performances out of poorer players...

As you said, and its been a pattern all season.. we'll win the next game and it will paper over the cracks and bring a bit of confidence back but in reality, we're flattering to deceive.

I’ve been saying this all along. Occasionally, very rarely, he does make a substantial change to the way the team is set up and playing. Rosey’s idea of switching it up is usually moving Slater to some random place on the pitch he doesn’t really belong.

On the whole he’s doing such a good job, the club is going places, but he’s far too rigid in persisting with ‘The Style’ no matter what. We aren’t Man City we can’t just go out and be better than everyone every week.

As a manager, whatever he said at half time today should have made a difference and a big one. Then the substitutions were too late and in at least one instance unfathomable. Its been said in time he will become a very good manager, whether this project and the owners intentions are too early in the 'process' for him remain to be seen.
 
What an absolutely abysmal performance that was. No energy, no guile, no creativity and no idea about how to beat the Swansea press. At least LR didn't come out and try to defend that sh1t show. If that game taught us anything, it was surely that we have to start with a recognized forward. Any of Sharp, Connolly or Ohio could have played 1st half and if it wasn't working, one of the others could have taken over 2nd half. Tufan and Carvalho together ain't working so LR needs to choose which one he is going to play as the 10. Big reaction needed next few games. Keep today's performance up and we'll be miles off a play off place come May.
