Rumour and counter rumour flying around about Jones now.

Cawley thinks it might be close.

What’s happening with our manager.

Seen elsewhere that Warnock is now favourite ??

What’s happened to Jones ??

I'd be more happy with Warnock.

The immediate requirement is to keep us up, I reckon he'd be better suited to kick a*** and get things moving.

I think IF it’s true that Nathan Jones is coming in, then that’s the next monumental cock-up by SE7.

What we need is Neil Warnock. This is now a desperate relegation battle, not an opportunity to build the team and progress.

Warnock is yer man for that, not Jones.

We’re going down. Lump on at 9/1.

I'm happy enough with Jones. Apart from Sir Lennie all our successful managers have a Charlton connection. I blame the SMT more than SE7 for our plight. SE7 have put a lot of money in, and the SMT have squandered it on poor recruitment. Just for a change I want a long-term manager, and all it needs really is sensible management to grind out enough points to stay up, and we haven't had that. A long-term manager will be able to plan ahead for the summer. Warnock a is a terrific firefighter, but it would mean another change in manager before long.

Semantics I know, but I see GFP as our owners (who appear to be largely not to blame, although we know nothing of the budgets that they set) but SE7 partners as Methven and Warrick plus the people they have appointed, ie Scott and Rodwell, these collectively being what I call the SMT.

However, my point is about the managers and here is where I have the dilemma. I think Jones would be the better bet long term, to try to build a better team to push upwards (although without bigger investment in players we are not getting promotion any time soon), but we are nowhere near that at the moment.

Where we are, is in a desperate and losing battle against relegation. That is not Jones’s strong point. But it is Warnocks. In fact I don’t think there’s anyone better.

The January window has weakened the squad in my view, not strengthened it and so it’s purely about avoiding relegation now until the end of the season. Warnock is the man for that.

Spot on !

Warnock has been named Aberdeen's interim manager until the end of the season.

<cracker> Welcome to CAFC Nathan.

You've got 6 days to prevent Reading beating us at the weekend.
