Jurgen makes everyone look good. It's no surprise players we sign are often nobodies before we get them. Stars when with us, and then "underperform" when they leave. The real genius is Jurgen.
Looking like it has legs now Virgil has all but said he doesn’t know So I read that as he is waiting to see who the new back room team are Who knows Going to be months of this though
Beck heading back to Dundee on loan after his one appearance for us with Robbo now back. Was talk of going celtic but after he played for us couldn’t play for 3rd team In same season.
Slowest transfer window in a long time. Anyone actually done any deals. Werner and Brereton Diaz on loan are the only ones I can think of. Not surprising really, the Everton case has spooked everyone over ffp (finally) and all the potential transfer targets are either overpriced or happy on cushy wages. I mean Chelsea wanting £50m for Borja Guy hasn't played regular 1st XI football for almost 2 years and only scored 6 goals for Soton when there. Can't force his way into a Chelsea team without a striker, he's not even worth half the 50. £10-15m at most. Price tag just shows how desperate Chelsea are to get in line with future ffp.
Was always going to be a slow window for us in light of the news. But yeah, other than Werner joining Spurs, I couldn't name a transfer that's happened
been a few that have gone through recently. Sheff United signed new keeper West Ham loanee phillips brighton signed new lb from argentina City signed kid from Argentina and loaned back Spurs signed that CB
Klopp has not major motivation to sign anyone. 1) we don't need anyone. 2) he's known since before transfer window he's leaving. Any kitty he would have had, is worth saving for Derek Asamoah (or Xabi Alonso) when he takes over this summer. I'm fine not spending. We have injury worries, but not an injury crisis that requires immediate spending to fix. Those who have been pulled in, who otherwise might not have, have performed admirably. We probably have better depth now than at any other time in living memory. Selling Thiago would make me happy. Other than that, no business needed.
I think personally there was never a need or a player available anyway. Everyone is sitting looking at these new rules and wanting to wash out covid years out of the years under review. what I am looking at is a pretty ok squad and the new guy has a right to try getting in some players GK: alisson, please let adrian go. Kelleher might go but we have a cuple of very fine keepers that can be 3rd choice. RB: Trent and bradley. Lets go. the new guy can decide trents final position LB: Robbo and Tsimikas plus 3 kids. RCB: Konate and gomez - - fitness the only issue. matip to go now, no sentimentality. I'd be looking here. LCB: VVD and quansah - no issues 6: MacAllister, endo. I'd honestly be wanting a new man to look at this. I agree with klopp not punidts that you can make macca a 6 as hes smart 8s. Szoboszlai, elliott, jones, gravenberhc and kids. Its young, very young but theres a lot of quality there. LW: Diaz, carvalho, St: nunez Gakso, Jota RW: salah. This is an obvious buy for me. there's massive flexibility and in general work ethic in this squad. no bad apples so I would like to see the obvious issues like RB, CB, RW being looked at carefully by a new man but also that we see players come in of the same work ethic and not stupid errors being made in terms of character this is not open heart surgery but actually a process of improvement that is natural. Trent to CM, bradley and ramsey to fight for RB in an ideal world for FSG, a new RW option. Buy a CB? Its tinkering. We have now got a RB into the side who's done alright. Anyone who remembers trent and joe fighting for RB slot in thier first season will know that kids can come on leaps and bounds even form where Bradley is. no need to buy. there's a full squad and if there's no outstanding RW out there today and available right now then we don't buy. We will have to see about it thoguh as salah might go and we might be caught short.
I wouldn't agree that we shouldn't but it had to be the right player who came up. there wasn't likely to be one. everyone we've gotten has been OK like diaz etc. it's all about what we learn. no.cb needed for example or elliott can't play rw. now we know we need an rw.
Max Allister isn’t a 6 and never will be. If he was, Brighton wouldn’t have got Caicedo to do it and we wouldn’t have tried to get Caicedo and then got Endo even after getting Mac Allister
I'd say he will have his approach and formations won't matter as much as the quality of players. he wants a dominant team that controls thr ball. to assume he will play 3 at the back for sure is not safe if he took over any more than thinking he would stay with 433. the overall approach will be achieved by getting the best out of the available players and we will offer him a lot of very good , very flexible players.
Being linked with guy at West Ham to become new DOF. Might just be lazy link though as only just joined from Leverkusen and was the guy that appointed alonso.
