Bacon and pease pudding sarnie... comfort.

Not sure how far North you need to be to really know about pease pudding, but I bloody love it.

Yesterdays lamb shoulder - didn't bother adding any smoking wood as I didn't want to taint the roasties, so just bareback with some good quality lumpwood charcoal. Bit of a pain to carve up is shoulder, but she was good eating.

BBQ Roasties were on point - got them down to a tee nowadays after initially struggling with them on the BBQ (of all things)... Did chantenay carrots and shallots in white wine and garlic in there too. Just used a small 1-1/2" deep tray and wrapped the top tight with foil and steamed them.

Whole lot in the BBQ at 180'c ish till I took the lamb off to rest them cranked it up to 220'c to finish the spuds.

As usual, didn't remember to take a photo of the constructed plateful, as too busy running about plating up for the kids.

Admittedly, staple pease pudding servings are with a decent lump of ham, but hot bacon, salt and pepper... melts the pease pudding a little... it's tremendous.

A bacon pudding sandwich with pease?

Post traumatic Klopp Syndrome in full effect here... Have a bacon sarnie, with pease pudding smothered on each half of the bun. You'll feel much better.
