Big Joe likely one of the first to go?

Is that an actual quote from EH though? Doesn't look like the sort of thing he would come out with voluntarily. Especially the final sentence. He is usually very measured and guarded with what he says to the press.

yep Romano is reporting it too.

Would be a massive shame to lose Big Joe and could turn Bruno's head...

Only thing I would say if it he is to go he'll have been here 5 years so any incoming money would be pure money in to the bank account (if there was any deferred payments etc. when buying him) and his value is at an all time high currently. Also out of the starting XI he'd be 4/5th on the list of starting XI players we could "afford" to let go, in my opinion, and we'd still have Bruno, Tonali and Willock in the CM plus an incoming player to replace him presumably.

Pope (6)
Trippier (3)
Schar (4)
Botman (DNS)
Burn/Targett (2)
Tonali (DNS)
Bruno (DNS)
Joelinton/Willock (5)
Almiron (1)
Gordon/Barnes (DNS)
Isak (DNS)

We get this “might be sold” stuff every time a player is negotiating a new deal. If a reasonable deal is doable it will be. Joelinton loves it here, is popular and wants to stay. Nothing to see here. Let’s face it every player at every club “might be sold” during any transfer window. The owners are ambitious and will do their best for the club and along the way some players will join and some will leave.

If they sell Joelinton and rejected a deal for Trippier then we haven't got a ****ing clue I'm afraid.

Someone at the club needs to be gone

It would be an idiotic move from us, we are starting to look a bit like we have observed the league and settled for top 7 also rans.

Rejecting deals for players in their 30s for over £10m is just one of them head scratching decisions.

The days of Tripps and Almiron being our creative output was 6 months ago, they have been off pace for an age.

Next it's going to be "we have rejected a deal for Wilson, we just aren't ready to let a walking Ent from Lord of the Rings go."

This Jan window is a completely write off then, so now all our business needs to be done in the summer, where we will be priced out of everything or spunk 50m+ on someone who's decent on FIFA

I'm annoyed

I mean even for next season? Surely if we finish top 6 that will be enough?
Don't think he's in any rush to leave in the summer either, regardless of where we finish.

Yes, Bayern came in for him, but he wasn't asking to go - if you believe what's been said.

I think the only way he'll go (even in the summer) is if the club feel it's good for business to cash in on him in the final year of his contract.

I cannot see Trippier ever leaving to be honest.

He’s a leader and his value is more to us than 10m x 4 FFP.

I might be wrong. Even with the rumours. He could have thrown his toys out the pram to go tho Bayern. But he didn’t.

According to Romano, Serhou Giurassy will have a release clause of €17.5m in the summer. Worth a punt?
