Right, I'm already bored of sitting around, let alone 2/3 weeks of it.
So let's see if we can recognise the following grounds. Most of them will be old ones.

Anyone know this one, one of you will.

    No googling ya ****ers

A certain poster should be all over this one.

Probably even went to it when it was like that!

Maybe he only started watching football in 2016, before the photo was taken?

That big old terrace with the concrete barriers looks like St James Park ?

Not sure but the row of houses in the side (quite a few like that) and the position of what I think is the river makes me wonder if its Leicester. Cooling towers I'm not sure help much as there's quite a few stadiums which had them around them back in the day I think.

It's the road and further stadium in the background which I think are Welford Road but I can't see the university in the background (which would be there...)

    I agree.

Ps. Damn you beat me to Filbert Street. I was properly deliberating on that one.

The listed buildings still stopping development on that one side too.

The photo was from 1953, so probably before the university was built

I went there around 1987. Both ends were uncovered back then, but I remember those massive concrete crush barriers.

We used to go to away games in my mate's Renault 5. He was a big lad too. 5 of us crammed into this little car, me sitting in the back with my knees in my chest for 8 hours up the motorway <laugh>

    Correct.

That was a pleasant tube (overground) ride for me through the leafy south west London burbs

    Okay one more from me.

Should be fairly easy.... For anybody who went there, the shape of the roof on the stand (from where the pic is taken) should give it away

    That's Maine Road.

I was thrown out of that stand (North Stand) at half time in their famous 5-1 when they weren't an oil emirate toy.
