I love O'Nein and I think a lot of the **** he gets is completely unwarranted, I personally believe defence is not the biggest issue and most of the problems there could be resolved by playing a proper CDM.

Saying that he would be a real asset on the bench as he can play virtually anywhere on the pitch.

Think that’s why Roger’s was brought in , hopefully he will rejuvenate the commercial side of the club which shouldn’t be a difficult task as he is working from a low base . Biggest problem he will have is deciding how to prioritise as their is so many issues requiring fixing .

Absolutely. Sustainability is the only way forward. Once the Prem and EFL fully implement the New UEFA ffp rules and the new regulator gets in place then what we are trying to do will become the norm We’ll all become familiar with Squad Cost Ratio. Which eventually will have to be kept at 70% of turnover.
The times they are a changing

I've seen these arguments before and I can't begin to understand them.

You're saying KLD is only doing all this to suck up to his mother.

Also that, despite being brought up in football, and having his own advisers, accountants and solicitors not to mention a very intelligent fellow shareholder, he's being brainwashed by a bloke from Birmingham.

But what puzzles me most is when people say we can't get players to come here despite Hume, Huggins, Cirkin, Ekwah, Ballard, Clarke, Roberts, etc, many of whom came from PL clubs and worth more than we paid.

We haven't tread water since he arrived. He did what Donald and Methven had failed to do and taken us to the top half of the Championship.

We're a far better club now than we were when those clowns were here using the supporters money.

I'm aware I probably make too many comparisons to non-league football, but the principles are the same if the scales are different, and I know it well. I've been a volunteer on the technical side of things at four different non-league clubs now and spent time at others due to family members being involved. One thing is clear about the financial state of these clubs- the most stable clubs are the ones that are self-sustaining and that are not reliant on a rich benefactor.

I've made my peace with the thought that there is a section of our fan base that will moan/complain whatever the situation. We could be took over by a Sunderland born multi-billionaire and go on a run like Man City have experienced...Win trophies, buy top top players before sell out crowds every week and some will STILL find a way to bitch about something.
Having supported this club for 60 years apart from the last few months (which haven't been Stella) The ownership of our great club has been first class...but the smallest of blips will always bring out those whose agenda is to whinge on....its what gets them through the day.

The only note to add to that is that no club has ever been promoted from this division without making a financial loss.
Now, everything is unprecedented until it happens AND we came mightily close last season, but stats are stats.

Fair enough. One day, someone will do it a different way and I'd like it to be us.

You’re right uefa started these rules in Europe in 22/23 where it started at 90% then gradually reduces to only 70% by 2025/6
