is it to have 3rd spot in our hands at the moment?! Granted it's a tough old season and there's bound to be some ups and downs along the way but as from last night, 3rd place is officially ours to lose! Also, for anyone else at the game did you see the Aston Villa fan who was in a wheelchair and managed to wheel himself to just before the half way line before any steward actually realised? Was it shown on TV by any chance? Was absolutely brilliant, when he finally got caught one of the stewards wheeled him back while he spread his arms out in a "plane-shaped" motion! It was around the 70 minute mark I think, made it a really good night - a great win (which we should have been won by more!) and a bit of comedy to top it off! COYS!!!
The wheelchair incident reminds me of the story about 2 able fans that got into a game as disabled in wheelchairs, but when their team scored, one of them stood up jumping about celebrating and got thrown out!
That kind of thing! It was a high profile game, might have been a World Cup match, it was a while ago!
Yeah I'm sure it was Inda. Though for a 21 year old, my eyes are shockingly bad so I wouldn't take my word for it! I'm pretty confident that it was around the 70/75 minute mark though mate. If it was on TV then it'll be a great contender for Soccer AM's Third Eye!
Spurs or Sex,you post that we should have won by more,be careful,Ensil gets f***ing pissed off at that sort of negativity. I posted it yesterday and it prompted him to leave the thread so with any luck he won't turn up on this one.
LEGEND!!! Cheers for the heads up Thor But Ensil's entitled to his opinion as is anyone and in all honesty I enjoy reading his posts, his bluntness cracks me up at times. But I don't think many can disagree with the fact we should have scored more, Ade's header from Lennon's cross, his one-on-one with Given and then the side footer that went round the post after Bale's great work through the middle were just a few that should have been tucked away. End of the day we got 3 points and that's all I care about, nice to see a clean sheet too something we're not used to as of recent seasons
Yes he's entitled to his opinion but he made it personal when he criticized me for it. However I am broad shouldered and never display the girl's blouse stuff. I like the three points yes but like you I think that we can do better in the goals department. Whatever I cannot yet see this run stopping and in fact I can see it improving as far as goals are concerned. I can see us pulling away from Chelsea and I can City slipping up a bit soon but I just cannot see us stopping at the moment. WBA is tricky but after that it's plain sailing.
Yeah there's no doubt that we could have scored so much more than what we have and I'm not just talking about the Villa game either. The way we're playing the run doesn't look like stopping anytime soon but I don't want to jinx it either. West Brom will be tricky at the Hawthorns but we've certainly got the players and confidence at the moment to take anyone on home or away.
City lost yesterday and if they go out of the CL and lose to Liverpool before that then I think doubts might set in to what I see as a bit of a fragile set up there. If they lose their hitherto effectiveness we can certainly catch them. I'd like to see how Man U fare against an in form club because they seem to be losing a bit of potency too. Chelsea are struggling and if anything happens to RVP Arsenal could start losing a few too. Newcastle are a bit of an unknown quantity and could drop a few points soon too. Which leaves Liverpool who are gaining in strength and us and we've already said it. We will stay very much in touch with the leaders.
@ the OP... Are you serious!!!!! I love being in 3rd spot! This is exactly Where I said we would be to the Gooners at the start of the season and is one of the reasons they banned me from their sterile board. They thought I was being unreasonable and arrogant, but all along I was being realistic and truthful (and we all know that the Gooners cannot handle the truth). City apart, we and the Toon are the in-form sides, each playing good, attacking football and scoring lots of goals. We fully deserve to be where we are, and there is every reason to suppose that we have what it takes - the commitment of the players, the flair, the passion, and the discipline - to keep it going. Since Harry has been able to put out a balanced side, we have only looked vulnerable away to Fulham, but even then we managed to beat them! That's the kind of stuff that true champions are made of! If we were United, the media would be sparkling about what a great manager Fergie is and how they should be expected to overturn City's great start to the season. Indeed, if we were United, the same media would be saying "great start, but it's clear they are struggling and probably won't be able to maintain the winning streak." As a Spurs fan, I'm used to disappointment, so if we begin to fall down the table the feeling won't be anything new. But, in the meantime, I'm enjoying the view from up here, and absolutely loving hearing the panic and pain of the Chavs and the Gooners! COYS!!!!
Not really sure of what you're really replying to here HIAG... I've pointed out that 3rd is now ours to lose and the fact there was a wheelchair rebel at the game the other night. I haven't said I don't like being 3rd and I never mentioned as to whether I expected to be there or not, just that the position is now ours and providing we maintain our form, we can't lose it. Start of the season I too expected a challenge for 3rd rather than just trying for 4th, I've said that in multiple posts on different threads.
