Could be various things. I doubt it’s like Cifuentes is wanting to pick him and he just refuses to play. If it’s a mental health issue the club would be on dodgy ground sacking him though in a real job I guess he’d be on statutory after a while and presumably he’s training anyway. Not much anyone can do if he’s fulfilling his contractual obligations. Quite the FFP masterclass to loan him with an obligation to buy. Brighton insisting upon it may have been a clue.
Put Richard's and other sicknotes on Statutory Sick Pay £109.40 per week, will soon sort out some of these overpaid lay-abouts. It would also save us wages too. I've long thought why no club has ever challenged the employment contract of crap players and managed out poor performers, just like in everyday "normal" employment. Also, with some of current squad I would challenge that some of them are defined as footballers!!
