From above:

Everton said that a financial penalty would be sufficient punishment, and if it absolutely had to be a sporting sanction, then a transfer ban would serve the purpose.

However, the Commission strongly disagreed, saying that Everton had enjoyed a sporting advantage for each of the seasons on which the PSR calculation was based, “We have no doubt that the circumstances of this case are such that only a sporting sanction in the form of a points deduction would be appropriate.”

It further explained, “A financial penalty for a club that enjoys the support of a wealthy owner is not a sufficient penalty.”

That’s an interesting statement. Not specific to everton but really any major prem club and specifically with the chelsea and city cases currently going on. City have got away with paying fines for last few times they got caught (think only non financial penalty was reduction in their CL squad from 25 to 22/23 a few years back).

Agree. The Everton ruling sets a specific precedent, for FA breaches at least. UEFA is very different as we know, so whatever happens to Man City, or Chelsea next must be points deductions at least.

There’s a finance bloke related to EFC on Twitter and he’s concerned they won’t pass this years set of accounts.

I 'suspect' they won't because they continued to spend money on players. I've been studying their fans and they've managed to convince themselves black is white on this subject it's very interesting actually.

One of the fallacies they've been pushing is that the club didn't gain a sporting advantage which isn't actually what the report says at all.

They remind me of these people trying to make excuses for Lucy letby.

Yeah I know I take great pleasure in putting them right on it.
