Having an amazing Christmas run and being top of the league the morning the fat man falls down the chimney but losing to P*mpey away? Or Having a average run of results maybe losing top spot BUT beating P*mpey away? Thoughts?
Obviously an amazing run is better in the long term...but just like 2003 (I think) it would be sooooo satisfying enjoying xmas week with the satisfaction of having beaten them!
And with most of my family coming from the blue side of Hampshire I'm not sure I could bare a week of humiliation over xmas
Want to stay top of league until end of season. Losing to Pompey would hurt, but our best revenge is promotion.
as i have never seen saints play pompey in the league, I WANT AND NEED 3 POINTS ! all i have seen in derbies is a 4-1 defeat at fortress st marys
No brainer - 1st option. Keeps those down the road happy as well, while we get the top prize and say goodbye for another 25 years or so.
but of course...you aren't! Your choice is beat Saints but be relegated OR lose to a better team a stay up (assuming of course that you dont lose and be relegated!
That would an eventful day! I can just imagine the police ****ting them selves even thinking of this type of scenario!
...Made even better by Pompey being relegated on Goal Difference by a last minute Lallana goal into the top corner and it being announced over the tannoy that they're down to League 1, whilst Adam wheels away in a Pahars like 'in your face' celebration in front of the blue few. Yeah, it's gonna happen.
Oh Dear what a choice......we can lose to any team any day.....but can you get promotion any day... no....so no brainer.....for me it would be the icing on the cake to get 6 points off Pompey, but I'll settle on 4!
'25 years or so' Secondstain More like 12 months!! IF you get promoted, it's not the land of milk and honey that some of you seem to think it is. I'm sure there's a few left on here that can remember the annual struggle for survival in and around the bottom six-and let's face it, the Guernsey fat lad kept you up his own for two or three of them. After a couple of 4-1's on the bounce, I'll be happy with beating the living daylights out of you at Fratton and a point at the Gasworks.
