If we learned anything from yesterday, lets hope we use it for next Saturday. 3 points to the lads

Hopefully it's a painful lesson in what we've seen occasionally already when teams really press us.

We've got to move the ball more quickly. Get rid of all the extra touches and the compulsion to do a spin and a trick and beat a man every time we get the ball.

Realise if a team has a high press and are full of pace we can't play put from the back. Caught so many times but persisted with it for 90 minutes.

My biggest gripe about yesterday is there was no reaction from the bench, didn't change anything and made only one sub. I said on the match thread seemed like they had decided it was a defeat well before kick off and were happy to watch!

I had one worry about Beale, hand up I am one of those that watch our matches and have very little knowledge of anyone else so this isn't from his history. I read and heard all this stuff about his coaching sessions and he had experience coming out his ears in coaching but my thought was what about tactics? How can he can change things depending upon opposition, yesterday the answer was he can't but a lot of managers struggle with it though don't they?

Like was said yesterday, I don't think not coping with their press is Beale's fault. It's more to do with the character of the squad. We're not set up to play a direct game. We've got no CF that's going to hold it up. Against most sides in the league we won't meet anyone who can press that well.

The get out ball to a decent lad up front who could hold it up would have made such a difference yesterday

Funnily enough, just seen a rumour we're after Kieffer Moore

I had already seen that, but it was so obvious we were trapped yesterday, we had to try and play it out as a high ball up front was coming straight back

Exactly. We were just unfortunate that their pressing was so good.

Good point mate, definitely gave me something to think about there and you are right. I suppose lumping it up would have been just as bad overall in terms of inviting pressure after pressure!

Be interesting to see if Beale makes any changes for this game. Jobe needs taking out the team. As much as he's flattered to deceive of late, Ba is surely the obvious option on the right to allow Pritch to tuck in behind Rusyn.

Thinking the same as I read through.
Also my lad, as always saying "we're shìt".
    Which fookin annoys me.
He was right the times we dropped down the leagues, but we aren't shìt now.

I was hoping for more against the scum but I reckon they were fired up for this after their shìt show in the league and European disaster haha.

Whereas our players got a bit stage fright being young and competing in a lower league.
    Only a thought.

Yes the beheaders are a more expensive team and better on paper. And they hit us with experience v naivety.
And hopefully our players take something from this.

But Moore would be a great addition I reckon. Even to just mix it up.

I'm no footy expert by a long chalk.
And arl this modern 3-1-2-3-1 looks like fookin pi to me <laugh>

Can't beat 4 at the back, two wingers and a little n large like Phillips and Quinn for me <laugh>

Think he has too really. The performance levels were not there yday so someone else should have an opportunity to impress. But it's a full week on the training pitch. Actually are our fixtures canny over the next few weeks. Just weekend games ?

Still would rather watch our team! We have nothing to be ashamed of, can they say the same? Yes they have bought players to get results but it's all tainted!

No midweek game until Huddersfield on Feb 14th, unless you count Hull on the Friday night. This is when we can properly start to evaluate Beale.

    Exactly.

It's like building a precision model and putting it on your shelf compared to buying one off eBay.

Feb 14th jeez , didn't think it was stretching until then. No excuses at all now like. Really long period with just weekend fixtures.

No midweek games until Huddersfield on 14th Feb. This is where Beale needs to earn his corn
