Yeh he tries to choose the option that benefits the team most, I guess a selflessness that comes with experience and maturity, I hope this rubs off on our younger players.
I was sceptical of his signing when first announced but that 30 minutes convinced me otherwise. He's pointing, talking, getting into great positions. It's almost like he knows what he's doing.
What does that have to do with anything. Are you saying only managers who played as attackers are able to coach attacking teams? Ange Postecoglou was a defender and his teams are all attack....
For all those who dont listen to Rosenior's interviews. He seemed the angriest he's been in one today at certain players. Think Lokilo, Allayhar and maybe Twine were probably the culprits of his anger but hard to say.
Decent performance in some areas but familiar problems again. Yet again we let them go ahead and then had to chase the game. They were organised and defended well with lots of bodies and our second string attackers got absolutely no change out of them. The subs changed things but as always, the amount of chances it took us to score 1 was far more than they needed. Sharp looked very neat and decisive. He knew instantly what he wanted to do with the ball every time and did it simply, whilst others need 3 touches while they decide what next. To say he's 37 he doesn't exactly look slow either. Jacob should probably be starting the next game on that performance.
We (+ Brum) were last out of the hat for allocation of 4th rnd draw numbers - #32. All we need to do is win the bloody replay !
Sharp was a bit like Windass at the end of his career, looked confident and experienced, will be an asset.
Well I thought Vaughan was outstanding in the first half a joy to watch. I like to see his first half passing stats think he only missed one and his passes were not alll backwards and most of them were hit first time. Some nice inter play with Allayar on occasion. Needs to stick a few in the net to assuage the doubts of his detractors. He got a bit lost in the second half when he was stuck out left.
I have always thought Vaughan looks more like a central player, he’s very 3 dimensional and just doesn’t play like a winger. I’m not sure what kind of player he considers himself as.
It was. Instead of putting the ball into the middle for players in better positions he took a feeble shot straight at the keeper. Got very lucky.
I remember when some of the older academy lads got new deals, that most of us were surprised but I think Matty's performance today has shown the importance of holding onto some of these young players longer.
I listened on Humberside today and I think Swanny summed Lokilo up perfectly.. "he hasn't got the pace or confidence to go outside a defender'. Whilst on pace... I remember when Ally first came here everyone said he was the quickest player at the club. I honestly dont think his position is out wide, he's a bit like Delap without the Delap and needs a central position.
